What weapons would you like to see in Fallout 4?

If Beth said that there's 50 base weapons, then I think all of us are safe; but I wonder what are those base weapons?

Bring an updated version of the CETME with mods and all that. Hell have all the guns from 3 and New Vegas, and then add even more. More assault rifles. More Carbines. More Laser. More plasma. More boom.

For my own taste I would love something resembling the Accuracy International AXMC rifle series but I'd probably have to wait for a mod (assuming modders ever stop making the same 10 guns over and over)

I'd also love to see more European weapons. Correct me if I'm wrong but all we've seen in the two Bethesda games are American or Chinese. Give me some good German designed guns. Italian. English! Even Middle Eastern or Russian! I want to know what weapons they were designing prier to the great war, and what better place to have those imported before the Great War than right across the ol' pond from them!

Wow such wonderful Idea's.

Guess I am old fashioned give me a braining rock and I would be happy.

I suppose if you want to get all techie cause " future".... big rock in sock also just fine.

(I have hopes that this new weapon system will be everything Borderlands was supposed to be in early draft but was not)

I need my gatling laser.

But it has been in every Fallout game so far, so i don't really doub that it is there.

Indeed, the lowest forms of firearms are basically 14th century technology. I'm going to assume that if as a civilisation you can make helicopters and forcefields, the NCR at least should not find 20th century gunsmithing too hard.

When they announced that number I went and counted the base weapons from Fallout 3, I got to 70. Which doesn't bode well for Fallout 4.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3_weapons

I was just counting every shape of weapon from the list. Not all the various renames and reskins.

To be fair you're counting DLC weaponry as well.

I got 48 vanilla base weapons but someone might want to double check.

I know, it's an imperfect system I was using to count them and it remains to be seen what Bethesda means by a "base weapon". Maybe those 50 will be more than enough when we get down to customising them. I just intend to rely on modders to add new content in the end.

So with the local tech base supported by the Institute, I wonder how the weapon and ammo supply situation is?

As pointed out above, I would think they would be at least as well off as the gun runners out west.

If the survivors of MIT couldn't get an ammo manufacturing industry going, then no one could.

I think once you reach the downtown survivors, ammo would be relatively more plentiful and cheaper than in Vegas.

For one thing there is no war going on and they are not having to bring it all the way from the West Coast to the Mojave.

Might get to use that mini gun more than I expected.

Making miniguns and laser/plasma weapons powerful like they were in the first two Fallouts. Fallout 3 they were garbage and i never bothered with them. Now with New Vegas and its laser/plasma perks and the mod Eve, those weapons are great like they used to be. The Tri-beam laser rifle has become one of my favorites. Now the trade off to these powerful weapons, make them hard to get or expensive to get and maintain.

After watching the conferance couple of times and surfing the forums here; I think that 50 base weapons are just there to represent weapon in each category, then through modding we will be able to change an auto rifle into a burst or sniper.

A weapon like the M79 40mm Grenade launcher/Grenade Rifle. and be able to customize it into something like a china lake. or a grenade sniper.

The Incinerator is what i also like to see returning (maybe as a customization for the flamer) and the 25mm Grenade Machinegun.

Also the Winchester plasma caster

Not so much a specific gun but a type of gun, burst fire weapons, I grown fond of those over the years and love to see it in 4, maybe even as a weapon mod.

I think there's already too much bias leaning towards Guns, especially in New Vegas. I'd like to see more Energy Weapons as a priority in FO4, although still with a slight slant towards Guns for common sense. Energy Weapons are high-tech after all and wouldn't be everywhere.

Pump action shotguns and lever action shotgun/rifles and I hope the break action shotgun which we saw in E3 footage can be modded into something over-the-top like quadruple-barreled Duplet in Metro.

The weapons I enjoy as my main sidearm have always been revolvers, I was very happy that they saw a surge with NV due to the cowboy theme, I have been worried because of the lack of revolvers i have seen with FO4. My first playthrough character in FO3 had a scoped .44, my main in NV had a Ranger Sequoia, just those big meaty powerful revolvers where the ammo might be scarce/expensive, and they break moderately quickly, but when you use them they have serious impact. I hope they make their way from NV to FO4 and dont just get left behind or end up as just the .32 and barely dent enemies toward the mid/end game.

Kind of on the same token, I hope for the same type of trend for sniper rifles, in 3 and NV the standard sniper rifle is a semi automatic, which is ok, the hunting rifle got a scope in NV and was bolt action which I like from a roleplay/immersion standpoint for my sniper characters, I was slightly dissapointed by the anti material rifle, its semi auto, and while it was powerful enough to physically move you (in 3rd person anyway) the sound file for the shots left something to be desired.

My ideal sniper rifle would be slow but powerful, you line up your sights, take the shot, its deep and thunderous, you pull the bolt, hear that heavy shell casing hit the ground and roll off into the dirt. This type of weapon might be "too slow" for some people, but I prefer it over rattling off a volley of shots with a semi auto sniper rifle.

In the gameplay demo when the lone survivor is sniping at the (Docks?) he uses a rifle that looked bolt action, and the shot soundfile was amazing, I'm hoping this is the new model and sound for the hunting rifle, and if so, it might be my rifle of choice for FO4.
