What weather mod do you use?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 11:21 pm

After reading about an interesting mod that just came out and its required weather mod, I got to rethinking about the mod I use and became curious as to what the general consensus is towards several of the weather mods out there.

So, what do you use for a weather mod?

Used several over the years, but now there's All Natural and I doubt I'll ever switch to anything else. :)

All Natural has real lights and interior sounds (not sure which part does that). Just use All Natural :)

Some people may not like the natural interiors part though because it can sometimes make cells too bright and it isn't optional. In which case I've heard some good things about enhanced weather but I haven't tried it myself. Although it is included in All Natural IIRC so if you don't mind the occasional place being a tad too bright then definitely go All Natural.

Ooo, I didn't realize AN included interior lighting and sounds. I've been using Natural Weather, but I'm going to have to check this one out :)

If your system is up for it (and most are) there's no real reason to use anything other then AN, imo. If it stresses your system out then go with EW.

I recently used All Natural. But I got annoyed with some interiors looking like a nuclear blowout during the day so I switched to Enhanced Weather.

All Natural + Let There Be Darkness (and Let There Be More Darkness) + Natural Habitat... and "a few" other things. ;)

All Natural all the way. It is more advanced, and more actively worked on that any other.

As for the interior brightness issues; yes that is true (due to all the work to give the impression of outside weather being reflected indoors as well) but something they are most mindful of, and constantly working on to improve. Although All Natural has been out for a long time, it has yet to reach the state of being called version 1.0 yet (very close now though) and this is due to the very serious intent of the team to get it just right before doing so.

All Natural has real lights and interior sounds (not sure which part does that). Just use All Natural :)

Real Lights is its own component - and really the only part that causes any notable framerate hits, at least in areas with a lot of lights - It is entirely optional for this very reason.
The interior sounds (Natural Interiors) component however is a part of the main mod itself.

I think my biggest probelm with AN was the interiors. Other than that, I thought it was great too, but I just couldn't get past the interiors issue. To me, it really made everyone look strange on the inside. I think I ended up using AWS.

Try this.

tweaks for reasonable HDR:

10) Reducing HDR exposure
HDR is sweet, but a little overpowering inside. Set the following under [BlurShaderHDRInterior] only:

fBlurRadius=6.0000 (default 7.0000)
fBrightScale=1.7500 (default 2.2500)

took them from here: http://www.atomicmpc...u/Feature/36546,optimising-oblivion-v20.aspx/3

someone please save this info somewhere

Yes many people know and use that tweak but it's not always enough. I use that tweak myself and there are still places that look wayy to bright during the day. But as Vargr already said AN is constantly being tweaked and improved to provide the best experience. If you can't handle it then Enhanced Weather is a good alternative.

that's true. I used EW for a while. I like the way AN looks for some of the weather patterns so I'll use that for a while. Then maybe try out another one. But for now I love using AN a lot.

I wasn't trying to discourage using AN by any means I use it and don't plan to change it, it just looks way too good especially the sky. I was just naming a good alternative for anyone that finds the interior too bright when using AN.

no worries I know what you meant. As for the bright interior I haven't noticed that yet. Or maybe I'm not paying too much attention to it.

It happens when you play with HDR on, when its sunny outside then everyone will be shiny and that is very very very annoying
