The interior maps are truly awful and nearly useless. I usually don't have trouble finding the quest goal because I'm the type of player who needs to explore every nook and cranny of the entire area rather than try to run directly to the end point, but it still would be nice to have a decent map.

Yes, once you get used to them (and the awful controls) the maps in Daggerfall are really good.

These things aren't mutually exclusive. It is often more confusing and timeconsuming to look on the map than to go to the spot in question and figuren it out.

Uhm... I don't have problems, but, I suppose that GPS tracking is a little lacking in a post-apocalyptic world. Of course that brings up another question. Are the satellites in orbit still active? I know there were some in F3, but am unsure.

I agree the local maps are useless white noise; I did pro survey/cartography for a bit so I can say so. Better in F3, much better in NV. But Doom 1 maps were better than this local. and Descent 1 and 2. The main map and compass are also too cluttered with icons; they should have left the helpful triangles alone.

Secondly my trouble with the compass is no friendlies- too easy to lose companions (esp. Dogmeat). Then I see I'm discovered in green, but have no idea who/where they are.

Third...uh...how can you get lost in the Corvega plant...? You can get killed in the Corvega plant, easy; but lost?

It looks like the pip-boy and main hud were changed just for the sake of change. Thumbs down in my opinion. WWTT indeed.

Well the interior maps in the Pipboy are a complete waste of time for me. I don't know why they even put them in the game since they can not be read. Just lines and garbage everywhere. For those that say they can read it I would have to see a YouTube vid of you explaining how those maps are read. The different elevations are completely lost on these maps, which makes them completely useless inside buildings.

As far as this particular building the OP is in, it gave me fits also. Biggest hint I can give is find the elevator in the back. Getting to the back is easy to miss as you have to go down some hallways on the side. Another thing that may help is to go in another entrance. One is chained, but here are a couple other ways in.

What does VANS do? I have read the description... I mean, what does it show on the screen when you are playing? Is it like Clairvoyance in Skyrim? Does it draw trail for you to follow, or what?

I never use the local map because it's a confusing mess. I just wander around until I find what I need. It's easier without the power armor, as someone mentioned.

On the pip-boy map, different elevations are rendered only when the player is ON that level, so you only get the floor-plan (or topo map) of the elevation you're currently standing on. The rest of the noise on the map is everything else that returns a solid ping to the LIDAR (or whatever the nav system uses to map the local area with.)

Yes. In fact, there's a nuclear payload equal to ALL the bombs dropped on 10/23/2077 just waiting up there.

It failed to launch its missles on the big day.

If your still stuck in the Corvega plant I am pretty sure your looking for a bridge you need to activate and extend. its in a room with the assembly line and a protectron. had the same issue trying to find it before I realized there is a button right next to the damn thing. On a side note as I was playing through that room I activated the protectron to help clear out the raiders and he caused quite the amazing chain reaction of exploding cars. The interior map though is friggen useless.
