What To Do When You've Done Everything

Post » Fri Jun 12, 2009 12:40 pm

Hey Guys,

So I've done every quest, including unmarked quests, played through every faction, collected every unique weapon and armor, have tons of every ammo, and have almost all of the challenges completed. What else is there to do? Would love to hear what other people are doing to keep New Vegas fun and new until the DLCs come out.

You left off ... "discovered" every marked location.

And I assume you did do that. AND you explored fully the inside of every building and cave and mine.

Now ... with all that done ... I will say ...

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You truely beat the game for real!!!!!!! :foodndrink: :foodndrink: :foodndrink: :goodjob:

I just hate it when someone says he beat the game and all he really did was to only complete the main quest.

Again:

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S

I occasionally try a mod. I occasionally make videos. I occasionally try to figure out the GECK.
I don't truly play much anymore. Usually it's more like..."I have a video idea" or "I have a GECK idea/game mechanic curiosity" and then I spend multiple hours trying to find a way to make it happen. Can be a lot of fun...or frustrating. Or both. :D

Did the same thing, both with this game and Fallout 3. Even went out of my way to get exploit items (two Cram Openers, Mysterious Magnums, Acoustic Guitars, etc.). When I got to this point, I do one good save that is in the Presidential Suite (Or the Megaton House in F3) and wait for the DLC areas. The main difference between New Vegas and Fallout 3, is that in Fallout 3, I saved right before the march with Liberty Prime, while in this game, I saved before starting any of the Faction-specific Storyline quests (Things that Go Boom, The House always Wins, Render unto Caesar, and Wild Card). That way, if DLC comes out with Faction specific objectives, quests, or items, I won't be locked to a specific faction. Even managed to maximize skill points, so that all of my skills are 75 (except Explosives, which is 70).

I would love to try out some Mods, but being on the console (a NON-hacked console), I cannot do such a thing.

Do another playthrough with a different character.

But once you've accomplished it all it isnt that fun, for me at least.

I saw everything(locations, items and stuff) in 2 playthroughs and got bored.
Bugs drove me crazy and with the latest 1.03 it became worse. I don't know if i even want to play through other 2 factions.
Im on ps3.

Same here.
As well as trying out silly stuff to try, or make some RPG hardcoe rules up to do while in game.

Though atm, I've given up and am looking at other things to pass the time with.

You can try playing other games. There are great games out, Dead Space 2, Red Dead Redemption, Borderlands, etc...

You could try testing out every weapon you have on the people on the Vegas Strip and casinos. Takes a long time but oddly satisfying, especially the anti-material rifle and fatman. Better to do if you didn't upgrade the securitrons

Was wondering where you'd gone off to.
If you find anything exciting, let me know. I still have almost 2 months before baseball season.

Yeah, I could use a new game...but I played Borderlands last year. Red Dead is console only or I'd try it....not sure about Dead Space2. :)
Not into 'pure' FPS too much...what I need is another city-building-strategy type game like the Caesar series. Haven't played a good one of those in a long time.

There's tons of ways to finish every quest like in Fallout 2. This isn't like Fallout 3 where quests are linear and every character is more-or-less the same.

Except for the things that have been said already...
Go play something else for a while, then come back to FONV with a new character and try to play differently.

Also not doing everything with the same character helps me to keep the experience fresh (But it's to late for that now for you...)

Well, except for the mailman quests, or "fetch quests", they have almost no replay value, and the static map has replayability at it's throat, yeah i am on my 6th or some odd playthrough and i dont see a way to complete them differently in a way that doesnt involve breaking my role.

At least you can try mods, I got the PS3 version. Which means no mods.

I'd love to find a mod that has a weapon you can shoot pies with, or try a Zombie Apocalypse mod, I wanna try a mod where some guy actually rebuilt every building so New Vegas is what it was before the war!

Alas, Sony is yet to make mods available.

Hey, at least we are getting the DLCs at the same time as Xbox from now on!
