what where your thoughts about the fallout 4 e3 footage?

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 5:41 pm

That's the thing, we haven't seen much of the game yet. We don't even know the story. We've just seen some of the new "big" features. Surely what they showed off last night is not even close to all of it. The game has only been unveiled!

We will see more with time, and I am betting a lot of what people think is missing will be in there. I honestly don't see them turning their backs on certain features/the way you interact with them.

Time will tell.

Right because power armor jetpacks is letting the series change respectably... the series has finally been gutted of what made it so great in Fallout 1,2 and New Vegas and replaced with jetpacks, generic voiced protagonists and streamlined dialogue and stats.

I see a lot of the same old arguments from the same old people here. This time though, I'm not participating in the "U do Fallout Wrong" arguments. I like what I see, more or less, and I will purchase the game. If you don't like it, that's fine, but it's too late to have any influence in the design of the game, nor will you influence future design.

perhaps you will get an Obsidian version that might better suit you. (I'd like to see that again myself).

Again,we don't know 50-60% percent of the game.

There are only speculations and theories about the story.

Lots of things that bethesda didn't mention in e3 doesn't mean that they won't be in the game.

Honestly, I don't think there is a point in debating with some of these people. They're not going to change their minds and it'll all just be full of dramatics/strange conclusions not based in fact but in emotion rather than logical discussion.

Some people are acting like little spurred lovers because Bethesda didn't show off this or that last night. I can't fathom how some people cannot understand the game was only unveiled just last night. There's no way we have seen all of it, or even half of it. Yet people are drawing all these conclusion and going "RIP Fallout".

At least wait a little while longer until we know more. Until they have shown off more of the game and it becomes more obvious that certain features may not be in.

No one is saying this the RPG GOTY because there's a jet pack in it.....

Well said Gingy! I also agree that this game combines various elements that I dearly love in other games, namely the talking protagonist AND building a settlement!

Fallout 4 might not continue the story line of 1 and 2 or even 3 and NV, but it will be an amazing 21st century game with a post-apocalyptic setting. One thing I do hope is that my choices actually matter in the game. I guess we'll just have to wait and see to get the full story treatment in November.

I am totally looking forward to this game and can't wait to build my own settlement. New Vegas will still rank in my Top 5 all time favorite games though.

People just need to stop panicking and start thinking.

Yes and having a jet pack doesn't mean there will be no rpg.

Sorry but that does not have anything to do with what I said:I don' like what I have seen. What they show next is irrelevant to that.

Same to you I don't care If I have a jet pack or if they will show totally new ways to kill enemies next ...I don't like what I have already seen.Get that?Has nothing to do with how much of the game we have already seen. And you are the guys who can't disscus logically you aren't even able tp process a basic statement.

Never said taht.I said tahti ti sn ot what I'm looking for in an RPG and does not make for a better RPG.

That door opens both ways. It's a sin to be disappointed here at what was shown and implied and the comments range from "go away" to "dramaqueen" and "baseless claims, it's awesome and you don't know [censored]".

Mass Effect 4 looked pretty grungy to me, I remember when it was all about really shiny space-stations and fighting aliens - not just running around a ruined town shooting "raiders".

I said some of these people, not all. So calm down. If you don't like what you've seen so far, so be it. Maybe you will change your mind when you see more, maybe you won't. That's fine. No one is forcing you to like the game or buy it, if you don't even like what has been shown off thus far.

Show me where I said that. I'm very interested in that.

You posited the idea that skills weren't shown because they wanted to focus on new things rather than old things. I pointed out a few of the old things that they put front and center in their E3 presentation.

Actually, outside of the crafting and town mechanics, most of the new things were pushed into the background of this presentation.

You know, when they first announced FO4 and i saw the first trailer i was pretty lukewarm to the whole deal. Sure Fallout is nice but i always prefered TES and that trailer was extremely unimpressive.

But this was my pretty much my reaction to watching the E3 stuff: http://i.imgur.com/nj5uHQg.webm

I generally never buy into the hype, I always try to take everything with a grain of salt and generally expect the worst when it comes to these presentations but [censored] Bethesda is making it hard! I haven't been this excited for a game since i was a kid!

I'm cautiously optimistic, and there are some bits I'm iffy about, but I think overall I'll enjoy it. The exploration, building, AI etc. all look very, very good.

One thing I'm a bit meh about that few have noticed is that it seems to be going back to generic "raiders" and probably super mutants as well, rather than have those groups have their own gangs and factions. Makes them generic, and loses opportunities for dynamic interactions between one group of raiders and another.

Jetpack is just a nice added feature. I see nothing wrong in it. It fits with the universe quite well.

Now, you must know that they couln't really show us everything about everything. If they did, there would be no reason for next month's small little event.

I'ma be honest here. I dislike repairing. It's not that it's a bad idea (it can be good) but I feel it doesn't really suit well in Bethesda's games simply because in the end, it just becomes a boring chore. At least it being in the main basic game, so to say.

Now, let's say if weapon condition (and armor condition) is part of the same mode that Hunger, Thirst, and Sleep is from? That would be more fun as it suits better in that specific game mode, not necessary in the normal base game. I would totally enjoy it more in that mode myself so I am hoping they do have that mode again with the condition of gear being part of just that mode.

Except for the voice actor/ dialog wheel system, and the prewar story thing, I was happy with everything I saw.

I need to see more of the story really.

While I'm skeptical about Bethesda's writing abilities and the voice acting, they showed enough for me to buy on launch. That will be the first game I've done that for since... Well, since skyrim.
