What to do while waiting for Fallout 4

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 9:21 pm

I'm dropping 16 KG (34 pounds i guess) to get back in killer shape.Wanna get back mah abs and vascularity man.So I can be super ripped while staring at a monitor for one week straight playing FO4.

Life goals.

2 Years of modding skyrim made me lazy and unfit.I regret nothing.

- Volunteer jobs.
- Finally getting my ass in gear and writing that fantasy story that banged in my head for nearly a decade. (now 14K words in.)
- Playing other video games.
- Reading.

What is "Everyone's gone to the Rapture" all about? The trailer shows you nothing, and there is no demo.

It's a world where everyone is gone.. A lovely English Village, you wander around finding clues and listening to "echos" of those who were, to discover for yourself

Exactly what it was that happened. No traditional gameplay, no puzzles or fighting. Just piecing together for yourself, the story, from clues you can find and the "echos" .

Also ps4 only as far as I know.. I enjoyed it..I finished it in about 5 hours (one sitting).. Kokaku (sp) has a review out..

It autosaves.. You must watch for the small icon on the lower right corner when you are getting tired..You can not save it yourself.

-edit-

There is another trailer on youtube that shows more.

Been trying to get into some strategy games as a companion to playing the wonderful role playing that Bethesda provides. Was a Paradox fan up until recently, since I was getting somewhat tired of their DLC model. Right now I am enjoying Civilization and X-Com, especially after getting back into NuCom after playing a bit more of it and coming to like it despite my earlier dislike of it. Firaxis seems to be a good company, although it seems from the fan reaction that Beyond Earth was not one of their best. Every company has that though, some real stinkers in their output that just end up being a bump in the road in the grand scheme of things.

The best part about Civ and X-Com though is that they've existed for so long that they've got a huge fan following that will provide you with mods and fan games to keep you going for a long time. There's a open source version of X-Com UFO Defense that I have installed on my machine, there's also a spiritual successor in Xenonauts that plays much more like the originals while still retaining its own flavour. And my god, the Civ modding community has provided so much content over the years that its almost infinite. That's the best part about PC Gaming and games with large followings like Bethesda's and Firaxis's games, there's simply so many mods adding so much new content that you will almost never run out of things to do.

Yeah paradox's model for dlc is the most unethical I've ever seen. "You want to make an African character? Go right ahead! But he'll have to be blond-haired and blue eyed, unless you buy the $5.00 African Portraits Pack!" and so on until the total price of the game with all the micro-DLC is like $300

I wouldn't call it unethical, just that you can get a lot more bang for your buck going to other developers.

University stuff mostly.

Play other games, you know, live life. Fallout 4 looks awesome, but it's just a game.

It's not the second coming of Jesus.

I downloaded Andy to run droid apps on the PC and installed FOShelter. I couldn't get into it and unistalled it after a half hr or so. In the meantime, I will be planning for a 3 week stay in the wilderness w/ 20lbs of gear. I need to replenish my supplies of natural materials for primitive crafting. It's been a while and I need to get back out there while I still have time left.

That... and finish the forge in my blacksmith shope.

Shadowrun: Hong Kong comes out anyday now: Ill be in on that. I really loved the first one a lot and even the Dragon one was interesting.

Playing F:NV ( as Win 10 seems to love it but hate FO3).

Keep on running my 5th ED D&D games.

-Replay Fallout 1, 2, Tactics, 3, and NV, in that order.

-Then play METAL GEAR SOLID V: The Phantom Pain, to kill lots of time since its open world.

-After that Star Trek Online Season 11 comes out in October, so thats another good time killer.
