Do you have any information on how awful the damage is going to be?

Clearly, we play as a type of plumber, cursed to come again and again so as to forever fix Zenimax's dragon breaks.

Fixed (hah!). We are the jills, obviously.

My optimism has been dropping steadily ever since the initial high I got when I saw that badass logo.

Wait a moment, are you saying that this is the same day that you turned down a job opportunity to work on it or that this is the same day that they declined to hire you to work on it?

I say we all create our own guild.

We can go around preaching to other players how wrong everything is.

I'm in! I don't think we'll be terribly effective, since the guild will be composed entirely of nightblades, but that will just add to our pathos. Hellmouth will have to tank for us.

I'll be an Agent!

Looking at the art style, I think they were convinced they had imitated you well enough to not need you.

What were you aiming for?

Also, if anything, the idea of exploring the alternate world referred to by Vivec during the legendary trial threads would be rather amazing. I can only hope that is where the setting will be. Good thing TES has no set canon, amirite?

I guess between 2E650 and 2E750 could work as a timeframe, but making up excuses for all those unlikely alliances in that short time (the beast races were still seen as monsters, right?) seems like a major headache.

The answer is simple: they were quick and begrudged alliances in the face of an unexpected enemy who is yet to be explained.

"[You will play as] an adventurer whose soul has already been stolen by Molag Bal. This provides a convenient in-fiction rationale for being able to come back from death over and over again."

No it doesn't!!! NO IT DOESN'T!!!!!

Molag Bal loves torturing his captives forever and ever and ever and ever and ever. So it makes sense he would put the player through this sort of thing for as long as he likes. He never gets bored of his playtoys, so long as they scream and bleed for him.

Zenimax Online is the true Lord of [lore][censored] and Corruption, not Molag Bal.

I'm just going to ignore this game ever happened. Like how Nibenay is still a jungle populated with scantily clad animal cultists tending to rice plantations and not a Maryland-Gondor hybrid.

[NUMINIT]. *flails*

I don't play MMOs anyway...as long as there's an Elder Scrolls VI and more MK-written lore-bits. I'll be happy...

*runs off to play Morrowind*

The more I think about it, the more I think why couldn't they just go with a blank slate and go off to some place that people in Tamriel rarely ventures to. A lost expedition to (place here) where all who participated were violently killed and all accounts of it cannot be proven or disproved.

They could have set it in Akavir.

Kagouti, too. I never actually play MMOs, though.

Also: Sorry to hear that, Mr. Elk. The industry can be... Capricious. It also has a somewhat eccentric standard by which it judges literature. Your work is beautiful, and it's their loss.

Yes, the fact that alliances are formed in such a time is logical, but what I think is illogical is the members of the individual alliances. Nords, Dunmer and Argonians seems like the worst possible combination, and Bretons, Redguards and Orcs seems pretty stupid as well. Why even make Orcs playable? They were barely a proper civilization at the time, and every other race considered them to be monsters. It's like they took the map, checked which provinces were closest to each other and bunched them up into factions purely for convenience.
