what will mammoths be like?

Awesome. Could you post a link, or specify where you read this?
Can't remember where I saw it as a quest, but it talks about wolves attacking mammoths http:///www.pcgamer.com/2011/01/18/elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-details-revealed/

I like my mammoths big, hairy, and ornery.
Somehow that doesn't sound right.

I hope to see baby mammoths too. I wonder if will be able to jump on their backs and fire arrows on other enemies below? Not exactly as mounts, more like just jumping on a moving surface kind of deal.

Fallout 3 model? Of a MAMMOTH? What?
Also, how could they do that? It's a new engine. (I don't really know how this things work, but I don't think it'd be interchangeable across engines.)

The mammoth in the museum of history. The mesh/texture is already done, just needs to be rigged.
It is a mesh and a texture; it can work with any engine.

I think it would be completley awesome if they had packs of sabre cats or wolves that actually hunt a mammoth!

You'll be happy to know this is already confirmed. Well, sabre tooth tigers, packs, and attacks against mammoths by predators, at least. If you put the clues together, I think we'll see some tigers attacking mammoths.

hmm, I didn't know that, and I'd forgotten about that mammoth.
Is modeling such a large amount of work that they would do that, for convenience?

lazy developing right there.

i don't care what it looks like or how it acts but if it's walking around I will ride one.

Why is it "lazy development"? If they already have a model made of a mammoth, why waste time creating one from scratch? I could see making one from scratch if they were going for a more fantasy look, but even then, a few tweaks of the model already made would do just fine.

I like how they did the bighorners and used the term ornery alot. If they can keep the "Bull" mammoth as the agressor or just have some that are passive while others are aggressive thing they had in NV I will be pleased.

I don't want every mammoth this side of Makarth hunting me down.

Oh wow, think of what epic fights mammoths could make.
They should be largely passive, harmless creatures, but when provoked... Imagine a 16 foot tall, 12 ton fury of hair and tusk and foot crashing around you.

[NUMINIT] YEAH!
God, if they make them that size and scale, I will be ECSTATIC.
Honestly, I'm more excited for that prospect than for dragons for some reason.

That's what I'm thinking....

edit: but I hope when I come across one that wants to fight, I will be properly equipped to defend myself...

You can consider it an art form :) It is not easy.
But like I said, they could take that model and use it after a few tweaks and rigging... it is just a mesh, and it already represents a mammoth very well... of course, they may decide they want entirely new assets and do one from scratch, or maybe one of the modelers already had a mammoth made before the game assets were created... I'd think the people who do 3d modeling for a living would do the same thing I do with code:save snippets from here and there, and use them in future projects.
