By the way the Lone Wanderer and the Courier aren't the only Fallout Protagonists. We also have "The Vault Dweller" "The Chosen One" and "The Warrior."

The Tribal.
Have your character be in some village then get captured, enslaved, and then escape. Afterwards people will assume you're from that village but you can tell people you're not. However since the news of your escape, and your title, came long before you telling people otherwise the name sticks.
