What will the new books in the upcoming(hopefully) Elderscro

I prefer Ted Peterson's explanation that when they were kids, Helseth's sister bit off part of the ear and he had the other trimmed to match it later. This was mentioned in Loranna's RP, so it's not canon, but I don't think the cause has ever been said definitely.

What's the quote from, LN?

Both are very interesting, I just choose to use that one because iot fits my interpretation of the character.

Quoted from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. I don't watch anime much, but I love that show.

I wonder if maybe Morrowind came out of the Oblivion Crisis not much worse off than the Imperials.

Let us not forget the possibility of Red Year.

Thanks.
(After looking up the anime, I'll have to quote. ""Go Beyond The Impossible, and kick reason to the curb! That's the Team Gurren way!" Or TES.) :)

For Lustidrike: I had forgotten that. You're right, Morrowind might have suffered in the decades after the Oblivion Crisis. Or could the two novels include the Red Year as part of the (presumed) necromancers' attacks on Tamriel? A third possibility is that the Red Year will happen after Keyes' two novels but before the setting of TES V.

The Red Year?

Mentioned by MK in this text: http://www.imperial-library.info/obscure_text/5th_era_loveletter.shtml

I don't know whether Bethesda will follow through on his idea of an apocalyptic event sometime in the Fourth Era, but the text suggests that at some point an ELE (extinction-level event), or close to it, will happen to Morrowind. The survivors will include Dunmer miners, who then proceed to dig further tunnels and raise generations of Dunmer underground.

The nature of the Landfall isn't known -- possibly a moon falling on Morrowind. Anyway, I hope that helps.

A: That sounds creepily like something from Gurren lagann.

B: The loveletter is the wierdest of the wierd as far as obscure texts go. To the point that, while I usually give the obscure texts the same statuse as in-game books, I tend to ignore it, at least for now. Hell, Umbriel could be Landfall as a play on words, and get averted and change the (very malleable) TES timeline and prevent the events in the loveletter completely.

The people who understand it sometimes explain parts of it to me. And when they do I think more and more "this was a writing excersize that was never intended for publication." My wrists hurt from my three and a half essays, so I'll probably go into rant mode about the loveletter some other time. Sorry everyone!
