What will you be doing the day before the release of Skyrim?

Post » Sat Dec 11, 2010 11:17 am

Step 1. buy a new chair, and upgrades from my computer.
Step 2. Clean room so nothing disturbs me while I play.
Step 3. Steal the mini-fridge from the garage, and stockpile all food and drink requirments.
Step 4. Baricade door shut.
Step 5. Pre-load Skyrim on steam.
Step 6. Not leave room untill tuesday.

(i have my own bathroom :P )

Working my ass off with my master's thesis. I'll start it next month and it needs to be ready at the end of January, but in reality it must be pretty much finished 11.10.11 since I have something much more important to do after that date.

Sacrificing my fellow classmates/children to the witchdoctor. Why, you ask? He told me he'd give me Skyrim a month early if I did.

Ok... maybe not. But if anyone in the UK remembers how some supermarkets released Modern Warfare 2 early; i'll be snooping around those.

It's so far from now haha. But let's see. Seeing how that Friday is a half day for my school (Nov.11 is every year) I will most likely have no homework on Thursday and I will probably make my preparations for the game. Such as going to the store getting my caseS of Mountain Dew with one case of Red Bull. Also for snacks either Goldfish or potato chips. I want something that I can eat without getting my controller messy. Any suggestions?

I'm going to be staying the hell away from the forums. I learned my lesson when Bioshock was released. I was on the forums almost the entire day before release, and while the devs/moderators were at the release party, someone posted a spoiler thread, with: "YOU ARE ANDREW RYAN'S SON AND YOU KILL HIM IN THE END" in the title.

I will get the game as soon as it comes out, rip open the packaging (the one thats hard to open) curse that packaging and the time it wastes, anyway and then play on it forever, while MW3 lies on my game pile never to be played again :D

I'll be at the office that Thursday, probably stealing lots of company time looking at last minute preview stuff on the web. Probably all the Perks and stuff will be known by that time so I will likely be mapping out my three characters.

When I get home from work I will likely take a nap. (I usually do anyway.) Then I will be well rested for midnight. Hopefully digital pre-download will be available and I can start playing right at 12.

Normally I work weekends, but I may try to take that weekend off! A couple weeks before Thanksgiving, so it will be a good time for me to take a mini-vacation because I just know that my coworkers will want Thanksgiving weekend off and I'll have to work extra.

Then when I go back to work Monday my sleep schedule will be completely destroyed, but it will have been worth it.

I do know one thing I'll be doing right before I play Skyrim.

I'm going to walk to the border of Tamriel on Oblivion, look off into Skyrim dramatically, say something intense, turn off the game, and put in Skyrim.

I like this one.

Ill be sending the kids home after school then hoping I catch a flu that will keep me indoors on a doctor's note for a fortnight :D

Work, chores, eating, sleeping, interacting with friends and family, etc.

It's just a game.

Really.

If you are on these boards.... it is not "just a game", but I will be doing the same with that Elephant in the room.

What Would Dovahkiin Do?

I will be banning myself from all spoiler media a few days prior.
The day before I will be running around oblivion, enjoying my last few moments in what has been years of enjoyment.
That night will be spent at a midnight release where I will find some fellow soon to be Skyrim Heroes.

Then life will be put on hold for an undetermined amount of time.

I'll take a good, meaty crap. Then I'll shower. I'll have a cup of coffee too. THEN I'll play Skyrim.

Gotta feel good when I play ;)
