Stormageddon Dark Lord of All
Stormageddon Dark Lord of All
Dog. Or Cat, if my character thinks he has a sense of humour.
All dogs should be named something like "Dammit", "Stop That", or "No". Cats too, for that matter. And children.
Zoltan, most likely. A shame he isn't a wolf.
I have quite a few names I use though, so I might not end up sticking with it.
Bullet Sponge. "Come 'ere Bullet Sponge. Come 'ere. Now who's a good doggie!"
Amarok (not the car) but the savage wolf in Inuit legends.
I may name him Chompers or Captain Fuzzynuts. I haven't decided.
Why not just give players the option to choose if they want their dog immortal?
If your a single player it's not affecting anybody else and it's your game, you paid for it.

re: Immortal characters & forming an attachment.
Honestly, forming an attachment to NPCs depends on how they're written/the story/how much you interact with them. Not whether they force you to constantly reload because their moronic AI gets them killed every time you turn around. Poorly written characters with little real interaction & characterization? No attachment. Interesting characters who are part of the story & interact well with the player? Attachment. (Think about it.... many good story-based games with NPCs that people enjoy, are party-based things where the game only ends if the PC dies, and the other party members just get back up after combat is over. They can only "die" if the plot makes it so. But they're still good characters that people end up caring about.)
Yes, Cerberus is a great name! And Pal because it'll sound like you're calling him/her by name. Has it been mentioned yet whether the dog is male or female? I know they mo-capped a female named ?River?, IIRC.
I've been naming my dog companions (in games that allow me to), Pedro. Vote for Pedro... but this time, being that it is a German shepherd, I think I'll go with Beowulf (for my "Altruistic" play through) and Grendel (for my "Misanthropic" play through).
In the E3 video, when he initially meets the dog, he says "Hey, boy. What are you doing out here all by yourself?"
I will name it Gregor.. the name of the German Shephard dog we had when I was a little girl. Also might name it Wolfie .. an npc wardog used in some roleplay with One dear to me..

Clarifying Wolfie
For some reason, when I try to reply to a quote, it isn't posting the quote. I think it's this stupid Metro browser. Will have to try again in a different browser. Anyway, sorry for going off-topic.
