What will you name your character? : V - Skyrim

I normally play first with a Nord (well I did in Morrowind and Oblivion anyway, never played any of the others), and I generally name my male Nord's Hrothgar, but since Skyrim got announced and I heard about http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:High_Hrothgar I may not go with that. Might go with Einar.

I go with Hrothgar because it is the origin of my real name.

No problem! I used to have the same problem and that's how I fixed it. If I ever have a daughter her name will be Greek in origin.

My Morrowind character was Orien - Latin for 'East'

My Oblivion character was Erasmus - Latin for 'Beloved'

I'm unsure for my Skyrim character. Obviously I'm gonna follow in my tradition of latin names. Two names I'm considering now are Adeodatus ''Given from God'' or Klaus ''Lame one'' (for RP purposes my character was originally born crippled).

I'll browse through the index of The Silmarillion like I usually do and pick something that sounds cool, so a fantasy name.

Haha, nice. I'm debating on whether or not to create another character or just to continue the life of Stelmaria (thank you, Phillip Pullman). She's a Dunmer, so it's possible that she'd be alive 500 years or so after Oblivion takes place. That is the timeline of Skyrim, if I'm not mistaken... :confused: :blink:

A fantasy name based off of my real name, since my character will be a sneaky Khajiit, it will most likely be Dar'Khalven (my name is Calvin) Either that or he'll be named Dar'Rhashii, a distant anscestor to the remarkable thief of Cyrodill, M'zaarRhashii.

Or my last choice would be to name him Pahmar'raht, which are the largest and most fearsome form of Khajiit. :cheat:

i usually use my real first name although if a game asks me for my last name i make something up that is more impressive. my orc character that i will eventually make will of course be Grab er Butt
