what will you pick as your stats to start with

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 6:04 am

I always go high charisma and high luck. Even though I have neither in real life. The strength and agility is pretty accurate though.

Strength - 2

Perception - 5

Endurance - 2

Charisma - 8

Intelligence - 3

Agility - 1

Luck - 7

* Higher charisma if necessary..

First character I'll be mostly trying to build settlements. From the video I noticed things like the "Trading Stand" Requires Local Leader Rank 3 (Perk?)... I'm just assuming here but if it's a perk it'll probably have Charisma/Speech/Barter requirement.

I want to see how specials interact with the new skill system or new skill perk system before I speculate on what values to place where.

10 charisma and 10 intelligence... rest of the points into perception.. so 8? perception... dont care about anything else.. im going to be a scientist basically with no need for anything else.

i mean if i need more inventory space.. thats what companions are for. luck and agility might be nice to have.. but arent essential.. to me anyways.

this will ensure im able to get all the science and leadership perks..

All SPECIAL has to have atleast one. It's 28 total, not 28 points to spend...

i never go above 7 for anything at the beginning, there are always bobble heads, quest perks, and level perks, etc that allow you to level your special. stats so you could potentially waste points. in FO3 you had lucky shades and the lucky 8 ball to add 3 points to luck alone. so if you set luck to 8 you wasted a point. same can be said about other special so just be mindful that there's always room to expand after you set your stats. we obviously don't know how to raise these points yet, but i assume there will be multiple ways to do so for each stat.

Man - assigning special points looks to be really difficult in FO4 and requires sacrfices. I like!

Strength: 1 > I'll just have to be very judicious with what I choose to pick up, and have numerous stashes. Also, I'll know melee equals death, and if the enemy has gotten close, I lose.

Perception: 5 > Give me that sweet AWARENESS of enemies nearby, and give me the accuracy to shoot them in VATS.

Endurance: 2 > See above with Strength. If the enemy hits me, I'm dead. I am going to be a glass cannon. Using Sneak attacks with a sniper rifle.

Charisma: 4 > I'll need some measure of allies and ability to talk myself out of situations.

Intelligence: 7 > I'll be smart. I'll want that extra XP, and to be good at hacking computers and bypassing direct fights.

Agility: 7 > Since this affects action points in VATS and Sneak ability, I'll want it high.

Luck: 2 > Who needs luck with you have skill? Besides, why would I want to constantly find great stuff if I can't carry it? See Strength above.

Going to play a Sneak Sniper like usual. Can't wait!

EDIT: Hmm. Upon further reflection, this would probably be my SPECIAL score in real life. :cold: Maybe just a couple points off of Agility and into Strength.

Not enough information about the new levelling system yet. If the rumours about slowly working up your special are true, then I think ill be at bog standard average at the start, representing a man at peak physical condition ready to molded by what the wasteland throws at him.

I couldn't hazard a guess until I see how it's all going to work. I'm pretty sure that SPECIAL stats will be the gateways to perks so I imagine I'll have to learn the mechanics of it all before I can make an informed choice. I will probably focus on guns and technology, so will assign my points appropriately. I don't imagine my very first character will get very far ... he'll be a 'test character' that I'll quickly abandon as soon as I've figured things out enough to know what I want.

Action Points also seem to govern flight time with the power armor jet pack.
