What will you do?

Post » Mon Sep 12, 2011 4:37 am

I can't decide! I have three totally different types of characters that im thinking of i really am split between them... care to help me?

1.Argonian "Ranger"
2.50-50 of thief and warrior. Archery and duel weilded sword and assassination dagger.
3.As a ranger would entail, go out and hunt pelts and collect ingredients to sell at the starting town for money and xp, going out a little further each time exploring till I join the Empire!....or maybe the rebels....
4.Definatley Alchemy; poison tipped arrows and dagger :)

or

1.Breton "Necromancer"
2.75-25 of Mage and Warrior. Adept at conjuration, destruction, Illusion, and 1 handed. Focus on capturing souls and "summoning them back" (conjuration... i can pretend :D )
3. Im not sure really, just wander around in awe adventuring till i find my purpose... join whichever faction will most likely win and pays the most :)
4.Enchantment obviously.

OR

1. Nord Warrior
2. Either two handed giant axe or axe with shield and heavy armor
3. The very essence of the "hero of skyrim" go out and [censored] EVIL [censored] UP WITH MY [censored] AXE knowing i have the heart of the people! Join which ever faction has the best intentions, regardless of the logistics of it all.
4. Smithin

What do you guys think I should do? Im so torn!!!!!

1. What race will you pick?
Breton. Typically I'm more of a longsword and shield type of player but different spells have their uses and their innate bonuses are helpful. Plus their resistance is awesome. I use to use them with the atronoch birthsign and spells rarely made it through.

2. What is your combat plan? (Weapons, armor, ect.)
Early armor early game; heavy armor late game. Longsword and shield expect dagger with Dark Brotherhood and Companions missions.

3. What will you do first? (Follow the main quest, roam and explore, join random factions, ect)
First I'm going to wonder the wilderness towards Karthwasten, Once there I'm going to find an imperial with a family and kill everyone in the house. I'll walk outside and wait for the gaurds to take me to jail. Go to prison. Then go through the Dark Brotherhood quests, then the thieves guild, then the College of Winterhold, rebels if possible, then the Companions. With a smattering of main quest along the way. Lots of exploring early on as well.

4. What are your crafting plans? (blacksmith, enchanter, ect.)
I think being able to create my own armor with enchantments from scratch is an awesome new thing. I'm going to try and build every set of armor I use.

So guys, what will you do once you start up the game for the first time?
1. What race will you pick?
2. What is your combat plan? (Weapons, armor, ect.)
3. What will you do first? (Follow the main quest, roam and explore, join random factions, ect)
4. What are your crafting plans? (blacksmith, enchanter, ect.)

1. Nord, most likely.
2. Whatever most useful weapon I can find.
3. Do what I'm told to do (probably first stage of MQ) and then what I'm stumbling into.
4. Remains to be seen, what proves interesting.

As far back as she can remember, she heard them whisper in her dreams, but, she knew not the meaning of the dragon's tongue. These dreams haunted her, and it seemed that her need to learn of what the dragons spoke had been burned into her very soul.

Sibyl is a Breton, v?lva type, shaman-in training.
Her prime motivation throughout the game will be to learn the meaning of words spoken in Dragon Tounge.

She wonders, "What is the meaning of those strange whispers in my dreams"?

Prime Skill - Alchemy, to include herbalism, will be the governing skill, supported by various magicka.

Weapons - Weapons will consist of various staves and magicka, supported by daggers, axes and bows.

Attire - Sibyl's wardrobe will consist of items of cloth, fur and leather, and possbily some bone, if available, but, not if heavy.

Starting:

Shaken, as a result of her ordeals as a prisoner, Sibyl will move stealthly, like a hunted animal, doing those things necessary to live. Regardless of her starting point, after having been a prisoner for a while, Sibyl will want to rid herself of the filth and stink of where she had been held captive.

A water source, a lake, or stream, or if in a town, perhaps, a well would provide a water source, with which to wash, or bathe, as appropriate. A warm bath would be a dream.

Hopefully, early exploration, whether in a starter dungeon, or not, will have provided her with the fundamental tools required for immediate survival.

Her rationale will be to try to determine if the nearest town, or the town she starts in, is safe for her. After determining that a town is reasonably safe, Sibyl will try to get a perspective on the local surroundings. Soon, better clothing and equipment, as well as coin, will be needed. She will eavesdrop on conversations in the streets, shops, inns and taverns, collecting bits of information, while gathering clues to help her determine her next move.

The main quest will not be entered immediately. Sibyl will need time to establish herself, to understand the political factions of the region, and perhaps, to establish alliances.

Crafting:

A few snowflakes landed on Sibyl's nose, and tickeled her. She looked up at the sky and knew the weather was going to get colder. As she examined the wolf tracks in the snow, she knew It was time to collect some fur and make some warm weather gear.

She returned to her campsite. The embers of the small fire were a nice warm red glow, and she warmed her bare hands. She know she needed some gloves, Glancing over at her lean-to, Sibyl evaluated the equipment available for making traps. She hoped it was enough.

As Sibyl contemplated, sipping honeywine from a horn, a glowing cinder popped from the flames, landed in the snow, and promptly cooled with a faint sizzle. A slight shift in the direction of a light breeze caused smoke to drift toward her face. Her eyes immediately watered. As she brushed her tears away, Sibyl moved out of the offending smoke and collected her traps, bow and dagger.

It was time to hunt...
I would love to "harvest" items like fur in the game and manufacture something useful, like gloves, using developing crafting skills and tools. And then enchant some of the items my character found, or created.

In most Viking homes there was a loom and linen was produced. I hope we have something like that. Skyrim crafting has a lot of potential.

When it is time to sleep, she wonders, "Will the dragons again whisper in my dreams tonight?"

Hey, everybody! This is my first post on the boards, nice to meet all of you. (Now give me my fishy stick! :ahhh: )

1. Male Altmer.

2. Magic with a strong emphasis in Alteration defense magic, Mysticism reflection and magical resistance (or wherever these spells got moved to), and Destruction. Hopefully, Magic is just as overpowered as it's always been, so I can feel like I'm in my rightful place amongst the lesser proletarian races. We're called High Elves for a reason! We're above all the others.

3. I'll set off towards one of the main cities (provided that they aren't immediately available) while constantly spamming low level spells in order to level my skills up quickly.

4. I plan on Enchanting all of my gear with Magicka boosts so I can launch an insane barrage of havoc wreaking magic. I also plan on crafting enhanced Elven armor because, as we all know, the damage protection of armor doesn't really matter if you're using reflect damage 100% spells or a shield 85% spell.

2. Dagger or shortsword, and as many spells as I can find, especially restoration.
3. You can never start your tan cup collection too soon.
4. Alchemy, for use and to make money, and a bit of enchanting, for personal use only

1. Male Breton.
2. Staff and magic.
3. First start off living in a town doing odd jobs and getting to know the people until I feel like I'm actually part of the community.
4. Enchanting. I want an enchanted dagger.

My characters name will be Phalen Raemourn. He was a powerful mage in oblivion, but after the main quest, he got into a little bit of trouble concerning the mages guild and with him being kind of evil and what not, so cornered, he made a spell to travel through time. The spell was so taxing on him, it took away all his powers and now he has to start over building up his magic skills again. When he used the spell it not only brought him through time, but to the Skyrim border. He magically appeared in front of a bunch of Imperials, who arrested him and thinking he was a spy decided to execute him.

1. Altmer

2. Pure Magic. Heavy focus on Destruction, and Restoration, as well as a hearty knowledge of Illusion, and Conjuration. My real talent though, will be in Alteration. I'll wear robes, and clothing, depending on what looks nice.

3. My character is in denial of his Dragonborn destiny, and wants to blindly pursue his love for Magical, and Ayleid artifacts. A cave-diving researcher, flames licking his fingers, he'll devote weeks to exploring a series of caverns, hoping to turn over that one stone and find some hidden secret.... maybe another language....

4. Enchanting. I want to craft a powerful set of robes, and with Enchanting in my arsenal.... this has made my Mage totally different.

0. Make sure I'm properly isolated from the external world.
1. Nord Warrior. A tradition I have in TES games since Morrowind.
2. Dual-wielding, most surely. Heavy or Light armor, I still haven't decided. Probably I'll just use the one I like the most, like real men does :)
3. Also following my TES traditions, I plan to roam and gain a few levels before starting any quest.
4. Most probably none with my first char, maybe besides repairing my armor. My next chars will be indeed specialized in various crafting arts.

I'll probably at first just pick everything default and move out into the world to test the game graphically, adjust my settings to what is enjoyable and start over. From what I've heard, there isn't much to character creation, and I'm not a huge face changer, since you don't see your face, but once I start my first actual character...

1. What race will you pick?
Nord
2. What is your combat plan? (Weapons, armor, ect.)
Warrior style, except not using shields. Either dual wield or use minor spells, probably illusion and restoration.
3. What will you do first? (Follow the main quest, roam and explore, join random factions, ect)
Walk to the first main quest item, and get a feel from there. I found in Oblivion, the best items were found during the main quest, so I don't want to miss out on that. But once I've changed out gear at least twice, I'll start on factions.
4. What are your crafting plans? (blacksmith, enchanter, ect.)
None, I don't like doing these, unless they are simple. By simple I mean no more than 3 or so steps from material gathered to useful gear.

2. Dual Axe
3. Look for the nearest body of water to swim for a while
4. I plan om mastering smithing, but I'm gonna try a little of everything. :[censored]logic:

3. What will you do first? (Follow the main quest, roam and explore, join random factions, ect)
4. What are your crafting plans? (blacksmith, enchanter, ect.)

For example my plans are....

1. Ima be a Nord
2. I am planning on using axes in one hand and destruction magic skills in the other (switching between dual axes and a shield maybe) I will try to be profficient in both light and heavy armor, for dif situations, and just be an overall brute. (Makes sense for the story line for me)
3. I will follow the main quests until I get my first Shout and dragons start appearing, after that I will join factions and roam around collecting dragon souls and other shouts while joining factions and doing side quests until I feel like continuing with the story.
4. I want to be an expert blacksmith so I can make all my weapons and armor.

1. Ill be a Breton ( female most likely )
2. I am planning on using Sword in one hand and Illusion or destruction magic skills in the other (switching to Sword and a shield or a bow when i think its appropriate) I will try to be profficient in light Armour, and combine illusion spells for stealth with rapid melee attacks
3. I will join factions and roam around collecting dragon souls and other shouts while joining other factions and doing lots of side quests until I feel like starting the main quest
4. I want to be an expert blacksmith but would like to try all kinds of crafting so I can make all my weapons and armor.
5. I will see what romance options there are

4. I don't have any plans for crafting. Maybe if I find one fun and useful, and can create things I can't buy with gold or find in dungeons, I'll try it
