What will you tweak first?

Post » Mon Oct 10, 2011 2:50 pm

I was wondering what everyone was thinking of tweaking/adding first in the game.

Personally, I am thinking of looking up the romance-able characters, and figure out if any vampires are available. If not, vampire bride here I come. Also tweaking any purchasable homes with some cattle, via either quest or purchase.

Add a chalice in game, that detects fresh nearby corpses. If activated it fills with blood. (Idea being it preserves blood for future cravings.) One charge, and adds in some annoying side effects. (Increased vulnerability to fire and magic, Temporary paralysis(like 5 seconds) - The unnatural preservatives don't sit well with you)

Add a ring in game - If your a vampire it negates sun damage. Downside is it also negates much of your vampire abilities. No vampire strength(or other skills), and no using of any vampire related abilities while wearing the ring. So in essence, your actually weaker then a non vampire while wearing it. (The other penalties still exist for being a vamp, like fire resist) -- Also the ring slows down blood cravings by 1/2

Create quests for the above items so its not so much of a cheat. (Although, with aforementioned negatives, I think it pretty much balances itself. Oh, and incase anyone didnt guess, I plan on becoming a vampire asap =)

i suggest actually playing the game before even considering looking online for any mods or making your own.

if i was a dev at beth id be highly insulted if mods came out within a short while of skyrims release.

I don't think it will require the CK, but the HUD is first on my list.

I first need to play the game properly before I can decide what to mod. My first proper mod will probably AI related. I love scripting better AI, it's very rewarding.

They really shouldn't be insulted. They're releasing the kit so that it can be used. They can't get everyone's taste perfectly.

Personally I don't remember hearing anything that made me think "oh I've got to tweek this".. I'll play the game and we'll see.

I guess I'll be too busy playing to tweak anything at all but I might take a look at the UI if it doesn't fit my taste. Anyway by the time I'll learn how to use the new CK, Darn will probably have the UI completely overhauled :P

If the timescale is 30 again I will make a mod to change it to 15. I will do this before I play my first character. I don't need to play Skyrim to know that I don't want a timescale of 30.

Create a quest mod before even having played the game properly? Bad idea. Spoilers ahoy!

Probably the weapon and armour weights and speeds and if possible their naming scheme. I've never liked Bethesda's take on it and much prefer something that feels more in line with real world examples.
