What will you use?

Post » Mon Sep 13, 2010 8:03 am

Things seemed a little slow today so I thought we could use some conversation

What weapon in FNV will you definitely be using/searching for and why?

Here's the list of confirmed weapons so far
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_weapons
but feel free to list a weapon your pretty sure or hope will be in-game
(so feel free to put down tommy gun)

Im going to go find me a Tri-Beam
Since I know I'm starting out with my stealth playthrough first
this weapon does tremendous damage during a sneak attack critical outside of VATS

Enjoy :)

I'd carry a silenced/unsilenced pistol as a final resort, Sniper Rifle, and chinese assault rifle or equal equivalent for general combat, and lastly, I'd carry a Hunting Rifle for general purpose wasteland trekking.

Edit- Not sure if its obvious by my selection, but I prefer accuracy and reliability over power.

I'm going to use the razor.

I took down a sledge wielding Overlord once (no stimpacks, normal, merc armor) with the switchblade in FO3 by dancing around his swings. I hope to do better in New Vegas with the razor.

The Chinese POStol!

But in all seriousness, I'll be using the M1 Garand primarily. Probably also utilize a .357 revolver on the side. Powerful, but not overkill like the 12.7mm pistol. XD

The Anti-Material rifle looks cool, hopefully has some kind of knock down effect.

For some reason I want a meat cleaver too. I think a heavy melee character with high speech and luck might be good for hardcoe mode.

I'm going to be a sneaky james bond like character who uses what he can until he runs out of ammo for it. M1 garand will be popular.

I'm going to use a scoped Laser Rifle. I like to go in guns blazing, but I also usually try to ambush the enemy. Energy Weapons are my favorite, so the Laser Rifle is a perfect fit.

Nothing. I'll let my companions do the work. Except if they die. Then I'll take my grenade launcher.

Anti-materiel rifle.

I want a highly accurate one-shot one-kill main rifle. I don't want to be relying on anything spammy, I don't want to be getting up-close and personal if I don't have to and I don't want any gimmicky totally unrealistic automatic FLAK cannon in my hands.

So many choices, only so much weight...

I might be over-encumbered a lot.

Hunting Rifle (scoped of course)
9mm (heavy barrel)
A small knife for those times in Vegas

And when I know SHTF I'll bring along that assault carbine.

And I'll wear anything that says desert explorer to me.

Binoculars/canteen are a must

And when I wanna mix it up a bit I'll bring along that trail carbine.

I'm gonna guess that you'll be forced to play on Normal, Easy or Very Easy for that. Anything above will make high-level enemies take at least 2 or 3 shots from it before going down.
