Post » Sat Sep 10, 2011 7:08 am

just wondering if you have a companion or have a wife (or whatever your into) with you on your travels and you get on a horse will they get on the back of your horse as well or will they just be left behind as you ride off. or if you are next to two horses will they get on the other horse and you both ride off together. how will companions and horse riding work?

Yeah, that was a serious problem. But I doubt they fixed it honestly.

What will your companion or wife/husband do, I think you meant to say. -_- :P Cut the both the heteronormativity and gender assumptions from the forums please people- it grates. Both men and women can play Skyrim, as a man or woman, and as straight or gay or bisixual. All these topics are speaking almost exclusively to men, about playing as a man, and a straight man- as if nothing else exists. Think of how annoying and that must be for others who don't fit this- thanks :) (Not being rude, just pointing it out.)

Anyhow, I'm not sure. I'm guessing they'd follow on foot- but if they get on the horse with you, that would be so awesome and I'd grin like an idiot at such a seemingly small, but brilliant little touch.

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be traveling on, now,
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see.
But, if I stayed here with you, girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you can not change.

Yes I understand that you are a bloke, but you address the question to other people- and while doing so engage in heteronarmativity. Anyhow, enough of that. :)

I'd be thrilled if companions (should one wish to even have any) rode horseback with you.

i wouldn't mind if there was an option to do so, but not if that was the only way. (i want my companion to ride with me, not on the same horse, but alongside me.

otherwise its like:

You: "hey man lets go ride out and kill some stuff"
Friend: "Ok but only if I ride behind you"
You: "um..."

and as you gallop through the forest path you hear the elves singing their laments in the deep thicket and you share a true love kiss under the ancient trees while snow falls all around you

Probably running after you.
But I can imagine some of them having their own horse.

They will probably run after you. Even if companions can jump on the back of the horse with you, if you don't wait for them to do so, they will still have to run after you, so the easiest thing to do is just have them run after you.

Give it a lick, it tastes just like raisins.

Honestly I doubt they fixed this so they will do their stop start running after you and try to keep up.

I shall be riding upon my companion's back, therefore negating this issue.

Kick you off your horse....

No they will follow on foot unless scripted to mount their own horse out of nowhere whenever you are mounted.
