What will your final SPECIAL total be?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 11:40 am

I'm personally aiming for a total of 60 SPECIAL points, and plan to distribute them like so:

S: 10

P: 7

E: 9

C: 7

I: 9

A: 8

L: 10

I got the total from the max possible total available in New Vegas, with: Base 40, Intense Training 10, all 7 implants, Reinforce Spine, Lonesome Road bonus point. All together, a total of 60. It allows for a very powerful character, while at the same time, not being totally perfect.

So what about you? Will you go for a perfect 10 in everything? Go as far as the traditional 40? Or even stick with the default base total the entire game?

I would love to max out everything, however that will require quite some time with just one character and I will end up playing through a few different way so I will probably end up doing something similar to OP

you don't get that many points to start with.

Spoiler

also to be blunt, you don't want to pump up other specials right away, if you want the Dog on your first play though put a point into attack dog (or if Cogsworth Inspirational, TRUST ME ON THAT!) then learn to handle the Dog or companion. for example a simple Stay, snipe turret and then attack whatever NPC looks like a proper dog treat works wonders when dealing with turrets he cant reach without being koed Also it helps if your trying to be a sneeky sniper to use your dog to spot/flush out "Ghoul ambushes" Bascialy in buildings that you know are hostile just Assume your about to be Ghoul swarmed by any convent piles of debree* sending him in to flush them out helps a lot!

Basically get at least one Weapon or melee perk and one companion or defensive perk roughly in that order.

S 3 enough to mod armor

P 4 I'll have lockpicking and pickpocketing ready

E 5 Aqua boy might be some fun

C 6 Local leader and overall better speech options

I 6 Want to try the scrapper perk out

A 3 Just enough for sneaking

L 1 Not that interested in criticals, hopefully the mods and others perks will give decent enough base damage

This is my more well rounded build with the dump stat being luck. Focusing on a more jack of all trades- Master of none go, will have all the general stuff such as sneaking, pickpocketing, hacking, crafting, etc.

It will give me access to most of the game to see what other builds I may want to specialize in later playthroughs.
