What is up with all of the complaining?

Post » Sat Jul 04, 2009 2:27 am

Hello, I'm new to posting on these forums, but I have seen quite a few topics posted over the last few days.

There seems to be a lot of complaining about certain features, bugs, et al. Honestly, I'm getting sick and tired of it. I don't know if I'm playing a different version of Crysis 2 then the rest of you guys, but I'm not experiencing these crazy issues that are being mentioned. This isn't to say that I haven't seen any bugs at all though. The menu music randomly plays loudly, there are some connection issues, especially if I'm in a party, and there are some other small bugs.

But people here are making it seem like the game is absolutely unplayable, and I think that is ridiculous. I understand if some people are having genuine issues, but it doesn't mean EVERYONE is having these issues.

I'd like to hear some feedback.

I agree with you, this game is awesome. But the killcam is strange, watch it and sometimes you'll notice the dude never hit you?

About the people complaining about the graphics, they sure don't play with HDMI cuz my graphics kick ass!

quite possibly the most sensible thread i've come across yet. i could not agree more. any bugs i've found honestly have not detracted from the experience. at all. i think the problem is that so many people wanted this game's MP component to be pick-up-and-play-well, when it's actually quite the opposite. so they wanted to jump into a match and kill 20 people right off the dikehead(see: black ops) and when they saw that this game takes some actual THINKING, suddenly the game is "unplayable". ridiculous.

my advice to all these whiners is... learn to play the game? i don't know what to tell them. but if they actually figure out how to play, i'm sure they'll be more focused on how awesome this game is and less on any bugs there may be thus far.

Maybe they met your expectations because they were not as high as others? All i can say is, they could have done better.

Please don't mix things up guys. The game is good, but it's far away from beeing perfect. Also, for beeing hyped as it was and having crytek standing behind hit, it could have been more than great, it could have been awesome. I really enjoy playing it, but that doesn't mean there are no severe problems like the matchmaking and other things. Sure, some people whine more than they should but on the other hand, if nobody whines, will they ever improve anything? The community is bringing the feedback in. We are beta testing this baby, no matter if you like it or not. Nearly all the online games i've played, suffered from the same problems in the beginning. We'll see what happens. It's not like C2 is the only AAA title coming out this year.

I do know how to play the game thanks, do quite well too under the circumstances - but lots of problems do exist for lots of us and Im happy for you if you feel the game is polished to a $60/£40 AAA standard, rather than the BETA experience I and many ,have been having. Also a lot was promised , realistic promises , that PS3 is capable of and more so.

I'm not saying this is a perfect game. My expectations were quite high, and I feel that this game exceeded my expectations. What I'm saying is that I haven't experienced these "major" problems. Sure, we've all gotten kicked out of a match once in a while, but none of these issues have detracted from the main experience.

I also agree that the community needs to speak up, but this constant complaining doesn't get you anywhere. Give them time, and it'll happen.

i find a distinct difference between "whining" and "feedback".

whining = spamming the forum with ridiculous statements simply because you don't have the patience to learn how to play the game

feedback = intelligently expressing what you feel needs to be changed about the game, without sounding like a scorned middle school girl

i'm not saying this game is "perfect" either. i can't pinpoint a game that's been released recently that hasn't needed some post-patching. but to declare this game a "POS" and "unplayable" is just out of control.

Please don't say us. You aren't speaking on behalf of the community. I think we should look at it by a case by case basis. Some people are enjoying the experience, like me. Some people are having connection issues, which I understand. Some people are constantly complaining because they didn't get EVERYTHING they asked for, which I don't understand. If you don't like it, that's fine, but don't lump in everyone else.

No offense, but just because you haven't encountered them doesn't mean that they don't exist. I agree that people belly-aching over things like the PS3 being a slightly lower res than the 360 is stupid, but things like the AI not working are NOT tiny little bugs.

But I know how you feel, I get annoyed too. Mostly it's because so many people are bringing up the same problems over and over again ad nauseum when they have already been brought up. I guess for some people it's more about feeling like they are being heard and getting recognition for finding something instead of just making sure things are brought to the attention of the developer so they can be fixed. That or they have no idea what the search function is....

I would guess that there are a lot more Unhappy C2 players than there are happy ones.

If you don't to read the biching and complaining, no one is forcing you to browse the forum, so just don't read it. This is only outlet that people have to express their discontent with this sub-par $70 release.

This game needs fixing, whether you like it or not.

90% of the complaints/issues can be traced back to the P2P which in all honesty is pretty terrible. While I do like the game, I find most of the complaints to be completely valid.

Probably the best comment, so far. I actually haven't played single player yet :D

I do think problems like that need to be resolved. I'm not saying that we should ignore them. As I've been saying, I think they are being blown out of proportion. Thanks.

I don't like your arrogance about this subject. You are misunderstanding me. I know that some people are having problems, but others are just blowing it out of proportion. What I'm trying to say is that people are enjoying the game. Not everyone, mind you, but some do.

I don't know what your issues are with the game, but I'd like to hear them.

I don't like your arrogance about this subject.

I don't like how you think you can come here ans say "You guys are complaining too much, shut up Cry-babies" after we have listed off a multitude of valid issues with the game.

I'm enjoying the game to a point, but I see the potential for a 10 out of 10 experience if CryTek would fix the stated issues.
If you're serious about wanting to know what my issues are with Crysis 2, you only need to read the sticky thread regarding patches.

You experienced all those things? svcks to be you. Get a new copy of the game. For me the only issue I had with the SP were some of the npc's walking against a wall... The game didn't stuck once, didn't fail to load once and I finished the whole game. Try playing the pc version see if that never stucks if you try sending someone a message on msn or whatever you use.

I don't know all the things that are on that list but I may have experienced only 1 or 2 things from that list. Like the "not being able to run forward if you hold down the stick to run forward when you haven't spawned yet" Just release the stick and then push it again then you have no problem. Sure it should get fixed because it's a bug, but that doesn't make the game unplayable.

As for the hitdetection, a guy on the forum explained it, your bullet is a projectile that needs to travel, unlike in cod where you just hit on the target. It takes some getting used to. Since I read that thread things went better in a match.

So sure the game needs some fixing (like the sound) but it is definatly not unplayable. Anyone that followed the forums of COD should've noticed the same thing happened there. The game got released and everybody was whining about this and that, saying it'll never get fixed. Just be frikking patient they had patches there, you will get them here too!

BTW, no offence.

I agree with the OP. I love this game and have found barely anything wrong with it. My only problem I have is just matchmaking. I'm sure that will be fixed asap though.

Forums will always be filled with complainers and trolls. Once bugs are fixed they will find something else to complain about trust me.

No major issues for me so far. Only one I believe? And it honestly made me crack up lol. I'm going to sue Crytek for attempted murder, I laughed so badly I couldn't breathe.
This AI soldier spots two corpses on the ground. Goes "Oh ****!" and JUMPS onto a car and dies.
But besides that I'm loving the game and I almost reached rank 27 :D

About the people complaining about the graphics, they sure don't play with HDMI cuz my graphics kick ass!

Well I play with HDMI 1.4 on a full 1080p 3D Panasonic VT50 and I sure can see how bad the graphics are. You're more likely to NOT notice it on a crappy panel than on a good one. Mine is a £2100 top spec panel and if anything is garbage then it will show as so.

I don't find the graphics to be any better/worse than WAW or BLOPS.
