What do I do with all this gold?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 3:11 pm

Seriously...what do I do with all this gold I find? What do I get out of selling everything I find? I have tons of money. What do I do with it? What good is it for in this game called Skyrim?

Please don't say to buy a house. Buy a house?! Really? What for? To put all my belongings in there? Really?! This is a game NOT real life. I'm NOT going to do that. That's just silly.

Buy a horse? Rather walk. Getting off and on a horse every so often is damn annoying.

Carriage rides? Don't really need much gold for that.

So...what do I do with all these gold I find and the gold I get from finding worthless loot???

Crafting? Not going to craft. That's boring and not very fun at all.

What is the gold used in this game for? My character has 21,000 gold. What good is all this gold for?

You pretty much listed everything money is for except for training.

If you don't like it there's nothing we can do to help you.

I'm working to become a Thane of every hold and own every possible house right now. I still have more money than I can reasonably spend...I buy every filled Grand Soul Gem I see too. Get the occasional training (usually when I'm one skill increase from gaining a level or one skill increase away form unlocking a new perk, like I'm at 49 and 50 is needed for the next perk.)

Other than that....just enjoy having it I guess. I've yet to run into a good RPG yet by any developer where you don't end up with way too much money sooner rather than later.

I pretty much just litter my house with gold pieces. I think I need to just put gold all over my floor and bed and I will call it good.

Training, houses, horses, and magical equipment tend to be the biggest expenses in the game. If you're not interested in purchasing and of these it's likely you don't need any more money, so at least you don't need to concern yourself with looting equipment you don't plan to use yourself.

Nothing, there really aren't any non functional outlets for mass gold, might as well dump it into a river.

which begs the question can we do that again? haven't been able to drop gold since Morrowind.

If you train every level you'll easily burn thru that money. Houses can also make a huge dent, the house in solitude is 25k and then there are the improvements.

Yeah, this game falls into just about the same trap as GTA IV. Loads of money and not much to do with it. You don't really have to work hard in this game to get lots of money since looting and quests gets you loads.

I grab kettles, pots, baskets and other 'open' containers and fill them with gold and gems to furnish my houses. Makes me feel like a pimp... errr... Jarl.

Improvements to what? A house?! It's a game bro! You plan on living in this make believe house that doesn't exist?
