What's with the arrow in the knee jokes? : V

Every single Skyrim video on youtube is full with those stupid arrow in the knee jokes. What's the origin of this?
They aren't that funny.

Its because its a line the guards use.. like the sweetroll comment.

Its just a insider joke for skyrim players, there have been several over the TES series.

It's a comment guards will occasionally through out there, it's apparently rather popular. There's certainly a tradition of guard comments taking off like this. First it was "Halt Halt Halt" with Daggerfall, then "We're watching you scum" with Morrowind, and then "Stop right there criminal scum" with Oblivion.

The funny thing is that they are literally all over youtube. Even videos that have nothing to do with Skyrim have top comments about arrows in the knee. I knew that a lot of people play Skyrim but I after seeing the amount of people saying it on youtube, it's quite impressive.

I didn't know where those comments came from but then I got an arrow in the knee.

Haven't played TES for a long time before Skyrim and I got Skyrim a few days ago, so I could have forgot some things.

It just annoyed me that almost every Fallout and Skyrim vid is full of these.

I've put 75+ hours into this game, and I've never once heard the arrow-in-the-knee thing. I've heard the sweetroll comment twice, and I once heard "I left the war when I was stabbed through the chest" (I don't think that was a guard though).

Trust me, he got plenty of arrows in his knee, come to think of it... maybe the guards are related to "the adoring fan" after all the abuse he got, it somehow melted into his genes....

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Were you ever an adventurer and if so was the reason you stopped being an adventurer an arrow to the knee?
How would you handle an angry customer?
