What is with the grenademolotov throwing?

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 1:18 pm

Holy cow Batman! I swear to the atom every fight I go into with Raiders or mutants has at least 100 things thrown at me. Sure they are easy to dodge, but when my companion decides to stand in a doorway that i need to get through with an empty look on their face just looking into oblivion therefore blocking the safety from said explody problem... I get a little frustrated. I mean literally every fight I'm in I'm just avoiding grenades it seems... and they explode right when they hit the ground...

I noticed that enemies were WAY too happy with their grenades at first, but I haven't had much of a problem lately (I'm in the low 30s by now). I may be facing different types of enemies now, fewer raiders and more super mutants kind of thing. But yeah, the grenades are definitely an issue.

I usually try to find a spot with a nice, big wall between me and them, or at least a large piece of wreckage. Make a lot of noise just behind it, make a shot or two, and move. Let them waste all those big booms on the obstruction. Repeat as needed until they are all out of ammo. Usually they don't have much else to back it up once they are out. It's just so satisfying to gun down that Missile Raider making a Banzai Charge with nothing but his bare hands! I actually use my Pipe Pistol to prolong the fun......watching him jerk and jitter and eventually collapse juuuuuust before he reaches me.

Yes, lots of thrown weapons early on. Have to factor that in with your tactical sense. Look for walls to duck behind, etc.

Spoiler
During the lost patrol quest i was just getting absolutely bombarded with grenades bye the super mutants to the point it was a little bit ridiculous but hey, it makes the game a hell of a lot more challenging which i like.

I got an assassin's double barrel shotgun early on from a legendary rad roach. It doubles damage to humans. I keep modifying it to do max damage for my gun nut perks. So the whole time raiders are tossing molotovs I'm charging them and one shotting them in the head. Good times.
