What is with the lack of non-enchanted hoods?

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 12:34 am

Seriously, they have one hood that isn't even really a hood but a towel over your head that's called three/four different clothing pieces (Cowl, Hat, Hood, and Clothes when it's attached to the shirt). Then you have like one Mage's Hood.

I know it's a small thing to complain about what with all the other problems but come on they have skins of the other hoods was it too hard to just make them into clothing with no enchantments especially after restricting the enchanting in general? If they have one item called 3 different things I think they could have done this.

Anyways /rant probably not going to solve anything but felt good to type it out lol.

PS On Xbox so no modding for me.

Hmm, I never really thought about it. I'm usually wearing either a helm of some kind with wearing full armour, or a circlet with enchantments if casting. I don't usually wear hoods. I only remember coming across maybe 2 or 3 "hoods" that were non-magical. I can't recall what they were called, hoods or cowls or something like that. And all random loot in wardrobes. I think I found a green one that looks exactly like the mage's hood, which I wore while hunting with bows in the woods.

Edit: Spelling

Doesn't help that the 3 in the games are super hard to find. Unless I'm just not looking in the right spots. Only found my Mage's Hood that I'm wearing now (looking for a darker one) off a random encountered Thief, who half the time when I do get her, has an unlootable hood.

What is with people not visiting the only clothing store in the game (protip: It's in Solitude) to get enchanted cloth items? Outside of a few unique things, they pretty much sell every single type of unenchanted clothing you can find.

I'm with ya. I'd like a lot more hooded options for my battle mages and assassins/thieves. All it would take is a simple recolour in most cases so I hope Bethesda hears our plee for them to be added in future DLC. :goodjob:

360 here also.

EDIT: Is a very wierd plee thinking about it. Gimme more Hoods!

There were just two black hoods in whole OB, never stopped me from getting one.

Way more then we have now. Had Red, Blue, Black, Green, Brown, Gray and more. Not asking for hand crafted pieces of art a simple color swap on the Mage's Hood would be fine, it's not like they're a stranger to that in Skyrim or the rest of TES series. Shouldn't have to buy Skyrim for PC just to get an assortment of stuff to use.

Go to Solitude and buy what you're looking for from the Radiant Raiment.

Funny I've found unenchanted hoods with any of my characters who would bother to wear them and been disappointed finding them for mage characters. I will give you all the mage robes could use a little more diversity.

I hear ya, I would love a unenchanted thalmor robe, but that's not happening. Also I know Todd was influenced by lord of the rings especially when they were making oblivion, why can't I get grey robes?

Yeah, I was a wee bit disappointed when I found that the only unenchanted hood I could obtain was from random thieves here and there. And even then, I could only get "novice" coloured hoods.

There should always be a hood at Radiant Raiment, though they are called cowls or hats. My mage uses a Alik'r hood.

Well she always has one of those, which I find even more odd considering they're redguard clothing which you'd think would be more hard to find then a regular hood.
