What Do Women Want?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 8:23 am

I bet 90 percent of BGSF members are girls. They just lie about their gender out of shame.

LOL. This is a mature forum, there is no need to hide your gender. This forum seems to be around 75% male. There are a lot more females on this forum then I have seen on various other forums. The max I've seen on other forums was 1 LOL.

If they lie about their gender its so they don't get 'creeped on' by hundreds of immature internet virgins. :)

***

In my experience, women want different things at different times.

Sometimes cocky and confident fits the bill, other times they're more in the mood for the thoughtful and understating type. Sometimes they'll go for the muscular hunk, other times the scrawny, brooding artist.

That's why it doesn't make sense to try and pretend to be something you're not for a girl. They don't really know what they, and guys, honestly, we really don't know what we want either.

Respectful, understanding, confident, and slightly humorous always works. Throw in a few shared interests, a little bit of grooming / good hygiene, and minimal conversational skills and you can score yourself a date easily. ;)

Again I say this ladies, you don't need to hide your gender. This is a mature forum, I would understand hiding your gender on a fan made forum but this this site is made a game company and is a lot stricter with rules.

Well that′s the problem, humans are still very much wired to be attracted to certain qualities in the opposite six, even if they don′t make much sense these days.

For men it is the obvious health and looks, we′re attracted to women who look like they are young (blond hair) and look like they would have a easy time bearing children, then of course big briasts and hips/buttocks is a sign that the female has a mature enough body to mate and have kids.

For women however it is attitude and material wealth, women are attracted to men who act like they are the boss, who act alpha, the act of putting another male down to express dominance can be very attractive to a woman, then comes material wealth, women are wired to desire men who can support them and their children, if the man has wealth then looks don′t matter too much.

We all like to pretend and say "oh but I′m not like that" but we all are largely like that, it′s actually a pretty big thing for a man to ignore the looks of a woman and for a woman to settle down with a man who does not act alpha and/or is not very wealthy at the time.

Edit: To clarify why I write this it is to support him for changing himself, if he wants a girl he needs to be someone who he is not, being nice and mellow won′t get him anywhere. I don′t think I want to change myself for any woman but it′s a bit clear that if I don′t change or come across wealth I′m not very high on the "desirable men" list, but hey, no hurry here, we humans are overpopulating anyway :P
Oh boy, we get to read this again. This ALWAYS comes up. First of all, why blonde hair? I think you'd find that we've evolved to be past such things. Yes, some guys go for the bimbo look, but I've seen most go for the A-/B-cup girls who barely have any sort of curvature in their bodies. It's a good thing that people are varied in their tastes. I'd hardly call it 'hard-wired'; it's another excuse for people to throw their hands up and justify their shallow ways. It may be a little true, but it's certainly not dominant today and many men/women have other preferences that take center stage and even supercede this one-size-fits-all mentality.

Yeah, I just don't see this obsession with blonde hair. Especially since they only make up about 30% of people in my country, so It's not like people can be that picky.

One of the biggest things is that he must be honest with me. I doesn't matter what awful thing he's done, as long as he's honest with me I'm going to feel a lot better about it.

At times I feel like my honesty makes it a good thing that I don't seek relationships. I tend to be blunt, and unrelentingly stubborn unless they can back up what they say to prove me wrong. Or, for everyone, imagine all the times your significant other says something you think is dumb and you politely say nothing, then imagine someone who just looks right at them and says "That is stupid", and refuses to apologize unless the other can prove they are right. I don't think I'd last.

It's a good thing that people are varied in their tastes.

If anything, I'd say that variety is just as hard-wired as health. If we all were only attracted to one type, and a disease or other environmental disaster wipes out that type, the species is doomed even if 95% of that six remains intact.

I don't understand the blonde excuse, though. That's an ethnicity thing, not a youth thing. The way it's considered attractive is a social construct, like whether certain fashion choices are attractive or not.

...we′re attracted to women who look like they are young (blond hair)...

A stick figure is a very simple type of drawing made of lines and dots, often of the human form or other animals (blond hair).

Leonardo Pisano Bigollo (c. 1170 – c. 1250) also known as Leonardo of Pisa, Leonardo Pisano, Leonardo Bonacci, Leonardo Fibonacci, or, most commonly, simply Fibonacci, was an Italian mathematician, considered by some "the most talented western mathematician of the Middle Ages" (blond hair).

A plastic material is any of a wide range of synthetic or semi-synthetic organic solids used in the manufacture of industrial products (blond hair).

Hydrogen is the chemical element with atomic number 1 (blond hair).

Everyone and I mean everyone goes for looks. It doesn't matter if you are male female, striaght or gay, everyone goes for looks, unless you are blind. (no disrespect intended, but if you can't see, then looks do not matter)

For some people looks only last for a few seconds, then they don't care, but it's those intial seconds that matter. You don't even have to be "turned on" but the looks but you can turn you off by the looks and then you will not warm up to that person. So for anyone to say looks don't matter is a false statement. They do, it just means they are not hung up on it, as alot of males and females are on how you have to be HOT. Alot of us accept average looks, but still it is based on looks.

Some of us even like what others would consider ugly. For me, I am part of the ugly crowd. Thing is, for those who like me, just didn't get turned off from me that is all. For most women I would not a second look. But make no mistake looks do come into it.

Don't forget, it what inside that counts the most. Looks only get you so far. After 20, 50 years or so, when things start hanging around the knees, you looks will not be getting you by at all. :P

For me, what attacts me to a girl is 3 criteria come into play. Usually you see them from far away, so it is the hair that comes first. Then I love looking at the eyes, but since they are far away I look at the chest, then the eyes. So either I am attracted right away or I am not. It doesn't mean I am not interested in the person but look come into play because we always check out the other person for some kind of attraction or not. It is human instinct. For me, I don't get hung up on looks and will continue to get to know the person. Others would make excuses for not continuing, or have a few dates but make excuses later for not continuing to see you even though everything what they are looking for in a mate that they claim is all they ever want.

Of course everybody goes for looks. We are a visually oriented species, on a very primal basis, so it would be weird not to. Many subtle things even tell us directly whether we could be compatible with one another in the long run. And after looks it's smell. German has a fitting phrase for that, the English equivalent is kind of less appropriate. If somebody would actually find your guts attractive, you should probably be concerned rather than flattered.
Anyway, the looks department is primal, and you should never neglect that side of yours. But it's not good to rely only on that, this I agree with.
Well gee darlin I'm glad to see I'm good for something :P

I want:
Someone sweet and caring, someone who lets me be the bouncy loud all over the place person I am, who doesn't mind my obsessions with stuffed animals and cutesy things or that I don't always remember to use English. They have to be open to being dragged about Renaissance events (in costume of course). Someone who has their own passions but wants to share them with me sometimes and is willing to share in mine . They should be responsible enough to man up to life. I don't expect them to take care of me, I'm a big girl and I'm going to college for my own career, BUT I'd like them to WANT to be able to, I have to know I can depend on them when things go array, but also that they'll be there to celebrate the good times with as well ^.^ They have to be open to communication, full honesty....its not always pretty but its a good thing in the long run. It doesn't really matter what they look like, so long as when they hold me, I feel like theres no better place to be. :x and of course, they have to respect me as a person.

Having all that, I guess I dun mind going n getting that sammich....so long as I continue to feel appreciated for it ;P

That is a nice summary. A little less specification and it should apply everywhere. Someone who accepts YOU and likes YOU, not YOUR XYZ.
Though strangely, being the femme dyke here, I'm more of the "supporter" part of the relationship, so I can't really comment on that. But that should -naturally- be the reasoning behind wanting a "responsible man". It's absolutely required to be open about one another, that is only logical. Even yelling has its good sides. A nice shouting at each other, a minute quite after, and everybody likes another again. That's better than harboring a grudge - that is what destroys relationships, young and old alike.
(BTW, yay Ren fair. It might be hard to find guys who actively go there and don't look like sticks wearing too much frill around them.)

I think I hid that a few years ago, with my original account - just out of habit. Back in the day when everyone began the drooling and fanning when you mentioned your gender as a gaming lass. But that's loooong ago. Now it's more the "pics or it didn't happen" thing that annoys. But I can ignore that. ^_^

First of all, why blonde hair?

I don't understand either. I personally don't like blonde hair, which is why mine (disgusting nearly-platinum blonde, ick) is always dyed brunette (or at least has some form of lowlights, that make it look darker). And people actually complain to me about me not liking my blonde hair! It's not my fault I was born with a hair color I don't care for... I'm in total agreement with you on that one.

But I don't agree with the "bimbo"-part of your post. Not all blondes are "blonde" in that sense, thank you very much. :P

Maybe it is some sort of cultural ideal or something. If it's blonde from a bottle, keeping it looking good takes a fair bit of effort (especially if you've got dark roots), so maybe it's the connection between being blonde and spending an obvious amount of time on your image? Not everyone goes for that "high maintenance" look, but it's definitely alluring to some.

I don't see how it's "wired" in some way though - what about in other countries where the vast majority of people would never have had blonde hair naturally?

Yes, the cultural preference for blonde hair is a unique property in the Western cultural sphere - for others it's treated as, well, "just unique".
I can't really remember where it started, but it was already ingrained during the Middle Ages, where blonde was the hair colour of heroes and heroines. Blonde is special for how rare it actually is. Especially the somewhat miraculous appearance of blonde hair on children whose parents had hair of different colour.

Wife was a blonde, I a have brown hair. You telling me I should go to the Maury show now? :P.

Yeah sadly the ideal girl in North America is a Blonde big chest, skinny, tall and long legs.

I didn't know about blondes being so rare. I guess having bottled blondes all over the place, I keep thinking it's normal. Lernt something new today about "blondes being heroes and heroines in the middle ages", always good to learn something new every day. :D

Haha, I was mostly taking aim at they're description: blonde, big butt, big boobs; more emphasis on the last two, as we can see from a certain Kardashian family, bimbo isn't confined to hair color. And before anyone says it, I'm not saying all girls with big boobs, hips, and butt are bimbos. My younger sister was endowed in such a way and one of my friends as well and they are far from bimbo.

Edit: I forgot (blonde hair).

Girls on BGSF > Other girls. In quality ofcourse, not quantity.

I think we can all agree with that

(That is, assuming they actually are girls)

Well a pretty blonde is just as good looking as a pretty brunette. It's probably the rarity that makes them so attractive. I like a hot blonde, sure. But I like a hot brunette too. And I like a hot redhead, and so on and so forth.

Huh... are we still talking about what women want?!?

Anyway, if we're going physical, let's just say that a man that has broader shoulders then his bottom is always attractive. This is the primal instinct taking affect. That said, while the V is important for looks, some young men only develop it later in their twenties, so don't despair, you stickmen!
I also noticed that stickmen rarely grow a big belly, only the muscular type do. Muscle changes to fat over time I guess.

My boyfriend has very nice, muscular shoulders. Very nice looking from the back :hubbahubba: . That said, as he ages, his belly got in the way, but, I would never change him for anything "slimmer" --- not even Blond Hair.

Someone mentionned in the "What men want" thread that when you come to love someone, you are getting more attracted to that person because you know her/him better, the little things she/he does, you know, like no other. That is so true.

Something that really looks good on a few lucky men is black hair and red beard. Now that's something... but face it, it's genetics.
