What would happen if everyone killed themselves?

So, in TES everyone has immortal souls - the divine spark from before they were trapped in the mundus. When you die, this spark goes to the dreamsleave to be recycled, and when a papa Nirnian and a mama Nirnian love eachother very much, your soul reincarnates. But what if nobody was around to create a new body for your soul? What if the chain of reincarnation was broken?

My inspiration for this thread was a television program on one of those suicide cults. This one had some weird belief that the group's suicide would lead to the end of the world. While obviously, that wasn't true, it got me thinking about my favorite cosmoscidal pointy-eared people, and what would happen to the mundus if the wheel of life stopped turning. Would the whole machine break down? Would it wait for new bodies to 'naturally evolve'? Would Arkay just step in an not allow any of this to transpire? What do you think?

Obviously, I don't expect any solid answers here, just speculation. This is unknowable, but very guessable.

Daedra occupation on a massive scale. Do you mean the mortals in Oblivion, too?

No, since they just go to the waters. I'm only concerned with people who fully occupy the mundus.

Without mortals walking around, would the Daedra have any interest in the mundus?

Does the Dreamsleeve recycle souls at a 1:1 ratio? Or is it closer to the Hindu concept of Brahman?

I always assumed it was a 1:1 ratio, but come to think of it, I don't really know.

Wonderful! Time for a celebration... Cheese for everyone! Wait, scratch that. Cheese for no one. That can be just as much of a celebration, if you don't like cheese, true?

Sorry. I had to.

I'd think so. Seems like all the Princes would be itching to add to their domains. It'd still be contested ground, and I'd think the mortals in Oblivion would get transferred over and repopulate the place. Slowly. It'd end a very different place, of course.

Don't ask me what the Aedra would do. I don't know what they could do, without mortals to complete their circuits.

And where would the spirits/gods get their power without worshipers?

Actually, without a bunch of believers hijacking their corpses, might the Aedra actually become independant?
