What would the Fallout Nuclear Apocalypse be like where you

Post » Fri Feb 26, 2016 4:47 pm

Live in the "Golden Triangle" of high-tech development in Ontario. If this was the Falloutverse I'd be living under martial law and be subject to having my brain scooped up and put into robobrains. If I survive the rule of Pre-War America my town urban sprawls into another town that urban sprawls directly into the town hosting the most fancy tech-oriented university in Canada, home of the Blackberry in the real world and most likely all sorts of war machines in the Falloutverse.

Robobrain or not, id probaby be a casualty in the first days. If the blast doesn't get me I live in the most populated place in the entire country, and the fallout would get me since there's no good place around here that wouldn't be a target. Even if I was born and raised in the Falloutverse and not just transported there for the days the bomb fell, I can't see someone like myself putting up much of a resistance to American rule. I always find a way to be content with things the way they are, usually. Running off and joining guerrilla fighters in the far north isnt very appealing. That would give me a good chance of surviving the war, though.

Never understood why people think that the whole Earth is devastated in Fallout. China and USA is nuked, but as far as we know that is it. Places like Canada, Russia, Japan, Mexico, and India would suffer from extensive Fallout due to their proximity to China and USA, but Europe, South America, Africa, and Australia should be perfectly fine.

Keep in mind that regardless of where you live, the prevailing winds are likely to send the fallout eastward. Just because you're not near a major target complex doesn't mean you're not downwind from one.

Actually, there is this guy Chuck Youngbrandt who, in 1973 had a vision of continental war in America that would last 9 years starting with the New Madrid earthquake in a future July that would split the U.S. from New Orleans to the Great Lakes, followed by the combined invasion of Russia at Slaughter Beach, Chinese along the west coast in October of the same year, an eight year brutal occupation far worse than Iraq and ending with an American victory with the help of half the Russian army defecting to the American side. During his vision Chuck asked when the war would begin and received the number 17.

Here's one link I found.

Considering I live in the South Island of New Zealand, I assume I'd be fairly okay. Not many people would bother with us to be honest. Mind you, Christchurch is the largest city in said South Island, so we might still get hit with someones spare and unimportant nuke :P

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. So basically Point Lookout, but with a longer beach and golf courses everywhere.

Neither Russia nor China have the ability to project power into North America. Their supply lines would be far too long. Being able to destroy someone is very different from being able to invade them.

I live in NYC so....I'd be Radagator food. :P

No seriously, I'd probably be killed by one of the nukes or some hoodlums making a riot.

Here in Bisbee az most of the nearby landscape is already barren and uninhabitable due to mining. The acid water would turn into a radioactive acid water causing radiation burns and acid burns. Survival would be hard. Though the surrounding mountains may shield the town from any shockwaves from such a blast. But the radiation is likely to collect in the lower valleys. And the underground mines may collapse completely.

Phoenix metro area. Maybe I'd be able to crawl out through the Fallout, but the desert is already hard enough to survive in without the scorpions being the size of horses and whatever water that does exist getting irradiated.

Currently I live in Marin County, just North of San Francisco. I expect pretty much the entire Bay Area would get obliterated, which would encompass where I live as well. However, if you wanted a decent visual of "200 years later", look at "Dawn of Planet of the Apes": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKIj6-10Hn0

Well, I live in central Virginia about 50 miles south of DC, so I would escape the blast, back pressure, and lethal doses of radiation. Could be OK depending on how the wind was blowing. The bigger challenge would be finding food and water. As heavily populated as the area is, with no manufacturing to speak of existing stocks would be gone in a matter of days if trucks weren't running

not just that, but the US has a fleet of about 100 subs (majority stationed in he Pacific for obvious reasons) that they don'tadvertise or talk about. Those subs would keep anything from leaving cChina or Russia.

Canadian Prairies. Would probably look roughly the same as it does now. The weather may differ and the plants and animals may have mutated slightly... but the prairies already look like a wasteland. HAHA!

My town has a relatively large gang scene... So I suppose there would be hordes of raiders clashing against the rest which are heavily armed rednecks... Huh... Would be interesting..lol

Australia.

Giant Bugs.

Irradiated Crocodiles, Cassowaries, Emus, Goannas and a few hundred different species of snakes and God knows what else.

Help?

I really want a Fallout game based in Australia for this reason!

I doubt it would happen though.. My understanding was nukes between China and USA so I doubt the Outback would be greatly affected, other than the blown in radiation. =(

I live in England, if i was alive there are many bunkers left over from the war near where i live such as the western approaches.

Or i would live in my city's vast network of tunnels, it's underground, expansive, and can get me to anywhere in the city centre, it also links to the underground train stations, the pumping and air conditioning facilities for the tunnels that run under the river, numerous alcoves and sewers.

I live in the one country that can block all traffic going in or out of the Baltic Sea. Also, having already seen leaked russian documents regarding nuclear targets here, I'd say I would be pretty toast, well, perhaps not pretty, but toast nonetheless :D

This. In-game, mine would be a long-dead skeleton reclining on a lawn chair, old beer bottle in-hand.

I'd love to see what Colorado could look like in Fallout.
