What would & wouldn't you like to see in the character c

Face and body *sculpting* rather than just slider based, like in Eve Online:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJ_DQFVuixM
And that part in the end, where you adjust lighting and pose etc, is also very important.
The most annoying thing is having to reload sewer exit because it didn't look as expected in daylight.
This pose and lighting thing should also be available when you preview your armor etc. Nice for screengrabs.

I'd love to have much more customizable hair, beard is a must.
Also, body types. Tail customization for Argonians!
There's loads of things I'd like to see that probably won't make the cut, but I'm happy if we just get better looking characters.

I hope todays hubdate will show something about character creation, or how the races look now.

Do Want:
- Better looking faces / presets in general
- More hair options (including longer hairs for females)
- Beards / tattoos / scars
- Slider bars that don't affect each other
- Numbers on slider bars for precise control
- Customizable body options (with sliders, i.e. height, fatness, muscularity, body part proportions)
- More natural / realistic distinctions between young / old characters
- Ability to make younger and older looking characters than Oblivion (around 16-20 / over 60)
- Better lighting / customizable lighting
- Ability to customize face later (via console)
- Ability to save face / body presets
- Customizable hair length
- Physics affected hair (probably won't happen

Don't Want:
- Same facegen engine as Oblivion
- Crappy lighting conditions
- Low res textures
- Awkward skin tone distinction between neck and body
- Degree in modeling to make a decent looking character
- Beards and eyebrows only as textures

I'm gonna be lazy and agree 100% with Altair

and add
ass and briast slider :celebration:

some way to access the char gen menu, whether it is in game or via console command is important because individual playthroughs for TES games can last so many hundreds of hours.

Since we are talking about "Character Creation" as a whole including races and such... I′d like to see Bretons not being the masters of all that can do everything and are superhumans with physical damage reduction and spell resistance and extra mana and pwn all. Every time I play anything else than a Breton I get this nagging feeling of "There is a race that is 50 times better than the race I am playing".

Nerf bretons or buff the other races.

Yea i hated that too but i like the idea of mixed character race. also 1. an option to mix in how much of each race we want.
2. option to have elemental weaknesses, weakness in cold weather or hot or rain
3. Vampires that doesn't stand out by having orange skin & freaking wrinkles No matter how much they feed
4. Mage magicians witches warlocks that has some kinda glow about them, like eyes or glowing tattoos
Ok since there alot of beard request lol I'm strongly requesting from Bethesda that female character creation have an hour glass figure

I just found this & i'm sure some of you have found this & from the hype of the creation engine i seriously hope the character creation doesn't take a back seat to the landscape like other Bethesda games however the screen shots look very nice The landscape looks like something from Uncharted2 & hopefully that will be put into the character creation Not just the NPC characters. I saw a teaser trailer & it said HE will be dragon born. i'm hoping that was just the teaser trailer, if there's no female character creation option then i'm not getting it

I'm also in the camp that we should be able to pick from several voices for our char. With the dragon shouts thing this'll be our first TES char that speaks, the voice of our chars could make or break this game.

I say why not, Go from the silent mime to a strong male character you created with a voice that can strike fear in the hearts of weak NPCs or a beautiful female character with a soft beautiful voice that could hypnotize anyone. With a decent amount of voice selections & accents, it would set this Elder Scrolls apart from past games & it would be another thing to make the game not feel so outdated.
Have the character respond verbally like when walking through a town or village on city streets, an NPC walks close by says hello good evening nice night or whatever & your character responds hello or good evening to you Yes it is a nice night or whatever all in passing. And have the responds dependant on the personality you chosen for your character, friendly or aggressive, insane, quiet, flirty or whatever you chose. I not saying make the character talk so much you wanna beat then to death with a shoe, i'm saying in a world where every NPC can speak That it would be nice to have a voice

1. Character Codes. ME2 Had a system where the character's appearance could be defined by a short code. This meant sites appeared with pre-made faces that you could paste in. Some of them looked awesome, they could either be used as they were or used as a base to be modified,
2. Body changing. Fat, Muscle, Bone Mass and Height should be variables. They should be able to be customized to a certain limit and then agility, strength and endurance would continue to change them.
3. Tattoos and scarring. Body and facial.
4. Piercings. Nothing major, just the option to change the Argonian and Khajiit piercings.
5. Larger variety of realistic hairstyles, I'm fed up of using Natural all the time.
6. Beards, ranging from beards that Dumbledore would be proud of to the stubble and 5 o'clock shadow.
7. More eye colours.

The woman in the tavern in the GI screen looks great, looks like they've done a great job of the faces. Seems like TES is starting to lost its cartoonyness which IMO is the best course.

I would like to be able to fully customize everything about my character. Hair, clothes, facial hair (Not shaded slide bars), height, weight and build. Maybe add in at different shops being able to customize pieces of gear and other clothes and jewelry. Dual wield would be cool also... I think they should also have a number of new skills and bring back thrown weapons. Tattoos is a big yes for me!! Maybe have different were forms... werebear, werecat, and the werewolf? Oh and also display stands! In Oblivion, I hated having a full set of armor and not being able to see it when it wasnt on me and the display cases were worthless.

Skills: Thrown, Riding, Mounted Attack (Ranged/Up close), Handle Animal, Tracking, Trap Detection and Disable
Weapons: Spears (Able to be thrown), Throwing Axes
Pets?: To be able to have and care for a companion that fights with you

And since this is Skyrim after all, Id rather not see elven and glass weapons and armor. There needs to be a larger selection of heavy metal types and a larger selection of leathers and hides.

I want sliders for just about every body part.

The naughty bits too. :hubbahubba:

And height, muscle and weight sliders.

And better eye color choices. Those dim colors from OB were awful. Green looked just like brown. Maybe a color slider for the eyes so we can make them whatever color we want.

I'm also hoping for the character leveling not being isolated to certain skills like in Fallout or mass effect, i loved being able to improve any & all of the skills like in oblivion No matter how long it took through usage of that skill.

Obviously being able to adjust the Body. If I had to add something it would be adjustable eye color that way I could get Mako Colored Eyes.

Customization for Companions, mages witches Necromancy alchemists can conjure companions with magic or necromancy. Vampires can recruit through biting, Necromancers raise the dead or dig up body parts & create from there

I'd like some preset faces, not the ones like fallout though, but really badass looking viking faces. The reason for that is that i could be spending hours on creating the proper face i want, but it'll never look as good as someone with actual talent making it for me :).

I was reading a reply on another forum & it said that makeup when creating a female character isn't necessary to have available from the start. I think it should be available from the start & throughout any game with female character creation because it's a part of character creation like skin tone & hair color, what do you think

It's implemented though so you don't have ridiculous looking characters though isn't it? So you don't have someone with a GIANT nose and teeny tiny mouth?

I don't know much about it though so may be wrong...

It made my character look ridiculous, far easier to make decent looking characters in the sims.
as I understand new character creation system would be more like in the sims games.
You select face parts like a nose from a list of noses, then you can go inn and modify the sliders. Selecting another preset nose reset nose settings.
It should work nice as long as they have special options for beast races and orcs.

As I understand tattoos, scars and warpaint is confirmed. Beards is positively confirmed.
Custom bodies are also confirmed but not more than fat /thin and height.

From the console, type "showracemenu". Vois-la.
Although if I remember correctly, using showracemenu mid-game shall reset your skills. I think.
Is height even an option in Oblivion character creation? It's been a while since I've played, but I don't remember that one.

Don’t press done in the race menu, bring up the console again and press Esc and you can save your game, now load it again and you are good to go.
Height is not an option unless you change race, you can change it by console but it don’t work well.

Uhm, why? It's a single player game. I'm not talking about giving Argonian horns to a orc but why can't my dunmer character use the sam hairstyle of an imperial if he/she likes it?

Khajiit ears are on the top of the head making most hairstyles get clipping issues and look stupid, same problem in lesser degree with woodelf ears. Agorian should have their special menu. Also Oblivion was to restrictive, make hair possible for both genders.
