You know, I really don't understand why people like you play role-playing games.

Some people like to role play, some like to kill with axes and fireballs. Live and let live or rather live and let kill

Oh, I used to play roleplaying games, but the definition of roleplaying game is personal. Computer games aren't RPG's to me; pnp is. As to the killing, I'm more for problem solving rather than combat.

sliders effect each other because if they did not, you would open up gaps in your face......

Lets the inner beauty show through  ;)

On topic:
About three different hair styles, faces, and builds are about all I need. I'll use different kinds of armor or clothing to personalize appearence, but even that is done with practicality first. It's all about the mission, role playing is about speaking in silly accents ;) (your opinion may vary and is for a different thread or pm :)

-As you said proper lighting during creation, I hated how I spent hours making my character look awesome in the dim light of my jail cell then walking outside and him being a hideous freak of nature.
-Full face and body customization.
-Something similar to the new Eve Carbon character creator.

Anywho, I trust Bethesda with this. The faces already look very good.

All for changing hair in-game. Trusted a ghoul and a floating can of bolts in fallout, why not trust a Nord barber ' and would you like some plaits in your beard madam'

I definitely want to see tattoos, Also they need to make different body shapes and sizes, not everyone is buff with a 6 pack and an unnatural perfectly thin waist. More hair styles, better skin tones, seriously I would the face perfect only to find that the body did not match. Marks & Scars, eye options (two different colors, or even a missing eye),Facial Hair. You should be able to change all features within game, even the shape of your face/body, the explanation would be magic.

There isn't really anything I don't want to see.

Since they have confirmed classes will not be in the game but instead every skill will contribute to leveling up I'll just focus on the more visual aspects of character creation.

I do want
  • Multiple body types (confirmed I believe?)
  • TONS of hair/beard/tattoo/piercing options. With a slider for hair/beard length
  • As others have mentioned. A briast/buttox slider. I don't really play females but it doesn't make much sense for every female npc I see to have the same boobs :P
  • A free-form camera. I,e. I can zoom/look around my character while creating him
  • A choice of charcter voice* since they said they are having more voices per race.

I do not want
  • My skills to affect how physique. I'm sorry but I don't want to become a giant like in fable just because I use a sword.

*I do not want a voiced PC. What I meant was since they are having multiple voices let me choose my characters voice for when he goes. "Die you swit!" And "Ooph" while in combat.

Doesn't matter what you do with your character's body, someone who should get a real girlfriend will mod a double H cup, no doubt with a japanese school uniform

Let me guess... you're not a modder...?

The reason why body morphs are so important from a modding perspective is that with them we could finally drop the whole need of creating a million body variants or the need to adapt clothing to body X from body Y (body morphs=automatic clothing/armor morphs).

If you can morph a body like you want what's the point of modders creating variants? If you fancy nvdes then I'm sure someone will develop a nvde body mesh. And that's all you need. 2 morphable body meshes per gender (nvde and non-nvde/vanilla). Atm we have god knows how many HGEC/EC variants for OB. Then add other body mods and their variants like FF etc. It just confuses the user and causes the modder to either pick one body and mod for it (so others would have to do the conversions, which don't always get done) or spend a lot of time converting his work from one body to another.

People like customizing their stuff. Some prefer character looks some prefer character abilities etc. TES always offered many possibilities to create the character you want so they should keep pushing in that direction, it's one of the things that make their games so great.

Don't get me wrong nothing against modders appreciate the effort they put in and the contribution to the games. All Ireally meant was no matter what options we have in gen someone will complain. You can't please everyone

I would dig scars!!!! beard's, warpaint/tattoo, different eye colours... hmmm, in general an easier way too make the character good, not the horrible start models we got in Oblivion and Fallout where
you hade to sit for an hour too make them look decent. Also working skin colour this time, not all yellow and pink.

I would hate too se:

Horrible face models that requires alot of work on
Horrible skin colour

yeah that's about it

Just to clarify something: body choices have been confirmed. It's how they did them that is still unknown.

I think they'll allow you to choose from presets.

I hope they actually implemented morphs similar to how faces work in OB.

About sliders. The fact that they're moving as you move others is normal with the FaceGen software (google it to download the free version and see for yourself). You can modify the face by dragging parts of it in the GECK in Fallout 3 so it is possible to implement in game (there are game that actually do/will do this like EVE Online).

Given a choice between the Mass Effect/Dragon Age style of presets and the FaceGen system with sliders affecting each other I'd go with the FaceGen any day. Ask any of the PC modders and they'll tell you the same thing: the in-game face editor is a joke when compared to the liberty you have in the DAO Toolset (DAO's "Construction Set"). And it's far more restrictive than OB's system.

My point is: I prefer complexity (non user friendliness) and depth over a system that has preset options. A person good with faces can make some amazing stuff given enough liberty (http://www.tesnexus.com/imageshare/images/197510-1290514259.jpg).

Couldn't agree more it's your game your adventure your avatar. If you want to get into the action use a preset but I love spending ages creating someone who looks cool. Games as good as TES deserve this

For all of you people who think the sliders are meant to keep from making weird shapes.... I made an alien head Altmer with huge eyes, a tiny mouth, and extremely large dome by using the sliders. He even had green skin! :shocking:

I rarely spend more than a few seconds picking a look because I play in 1st person and almost never saw myself in OB, FO3, NV. :bolt:

Tattoos would be cool even tattoos on the character's face, & i like the idea of changing briasts & butt on your characters, as long as your character doesn't get fat just to enlarge your briasts or butt....That i do hate about SaintsRow2
1. Like 2 see things like being half human have elf or half vampire half werewolf or whatever
Question will there be dark elves or blood elves can others use them or are they exclusive to World of Warcraft
2. Would like 2 see the ability to mix & match armor or wear certain pieces like in Morrowind where i could just have one arm & shoulder covered in armor
3. Ponytails, pigtails, braids
4. The ability to mix our own color for eyes & hair

I'd like the same system but enhanced a bit. Also introducing some new races would be cool.

A bio editor. Totally useless indeed, but I liked to read all my well written past in Daggerfall, erase everything and write crappy stuff like how I managed to kill a mouse with my wife's panties.

Hahaha, yes please... I'm sick of playing waifish women that don't resemble me at all...first thing I mod. Hourglass figure FTW. :mohawk:

Also... muscle definition (if that's possible?), BEARDS, much better hairstyles (please give us long hair for once! why don't video games ever do this? ), better skin tones (unlike in Obliv, where the face went ugly if you made the skin dark or changed the complexion...), make up (black eyeliner = only thing I wear)... don't really care about tattoos in the face creator, but would like some for the body textures.

And the number one thing... I hate when you move one slider, it undoes another slider that you just moved. That drives me absolutely crazy.. I don't think they did this in Dragon Age, and it was sooo much easier to make a good looking character. So I really hope they don't implement that again.

yah dragon age had such a nice system, I as able to make loads of Hot characters :P, yes I'm vain sue me.

An easy way to import a custom morph. And a texture set that only main character uses, so if I re paint the face of my char the rest of the world remains with the default textures. If given half a chance I always model my character face in outside 3D application e - there is always something off with the sliders, no matter what game it is, so I stopped believing in charter creators finally being "good enough". In Oblivion it took me a while thou tho figure out how to get the head I want in game, so I'd like the process to be easier this time around.

Actually, what I want is the APB character creation system.
Clothes removed, of course.

This thing is just insane:

Greater difference between the races, I like the way for example how Dunmer had a thinner and more scraggy bonestructure than Altmer in Morrowind.

Overall I liked the character creation in Morrowind better than Oblivion even though it had less vaerity... In Oblivion everyone just looked so damn ugly.

one good things to add are some little texture when the pg reach some amount with some skill

exs: when we reach lvl 75 on destruction the fingers of the player will have some permanent small glowing light or for lvl 75 swordsmanship a randomical scar on the body.

with this metod we can know the power of our enemys simply looking at they and for the programmer it will be only some texture and mesh to add.

(sorry for my poor english)

I just hope Bethesda makes it so that the Imperials dont look like they just hopped off of Jersey Shore. Seriously, why was 90% of the Imperial population orange?
