What would you do to be apart of Skyrim testing?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 5:52 am

I would only do testing for Fallout cause I don't like that series that much and I don't mind spoilers. For Tes, never!

Nothing, I don't want to test the game! I want to play it at its finished state.

Even though testing is tedious and boring and kinda spoils the game for you, I think game tester is an alright entry-level job to become a game programmer.
You get to know the company (I mean, come on It's Bethesda) while you get the chance to show them the things you're working on in your own time.
But, I don't want to move to the US.

My dream is to become an AI programmer for medical implants (hearing aids, etc...) :disguise:

Nothing because Testing is a boring job. Oh I get to play the game early but I also have to file hourly reports. "Yes in my hour of Gameplay certain NPC glitched and walked right through a wall, The Troll wasn't moving right he kept zig zaging as he chased me, etc".

I would do it but really, the fun comes with playing the finished game.

I hope everyone here saying they would want to test the game realize testing does not = getting payed to play the game how you want. Actually testing involves tons of repetition with slight variation and giving in depth reports on what you were doing exactly that caused the game to crash or mess up.

For those reasons I'm pretty sure I would not want to test any game I actually wanted to play.

If I were to test something that doesn't spoil the plot, like a combat simlulator to test how combat/magic/stealth works, I might consider to stop playing any game (other than the test thing, even when it ends), for a month. But no more than that :)

That would be a complete and utter bore. I admire those people that stand in front of the screen and repeat the same things a bazillion times until they are suitable for a final product. I don′t know if they even get to enjoy the game at all, perhaps a few laughs...

I wouldn't. I will wait it out to 11/11/11 like everyone else. I trust Bethesda to do a good job. Like they will.

I rly wouldn't, it would spoil the game and ruin the fun and anticipation. Besides, bugtesting is not fun at alll, find a bug, write a report on it, find a dozen more bugs (bugthesda softworks...) and write a dozen more reports.

However, if you want a stupid answer, here's mine: stop hyping about skyrim (rather impossible, eh? )

Nothing, I would not want to be part of testing, playing a half finished game, it would ruin the experience.

I would love to test the game. People say it will ruin the experience for them, but honestly, considering how much I love the game [hence my name] I would like to take part in making it something that is amazing.

I would attempt to resist the temptation. It would be a spoiler, but dangit I would do it anyway.

What would I do to get a chance to test it?

*Scans for appropriate YouTube video....fails*

Anyways, quoting Malcolm in the middle here...

Well, I'd ask politely if it was a closed, semi-private similar to Halo Reach except Reach was public. However, I'd ask them to email me a super secret download because there is no way I'm going all the way to Maryland to test an unfinished game. And, even if there are bugs, I'm sure there will be mods and patches to fix them.

I'd hide in a nearby cave to get out of being involved in the testing.

Well...that, and wait for the GotY edition...

I'd rather not test it honestly, I'd like the experience to be fresh when I play it the first time.

I was in the WoW Cataclysm Beta, that was fun but I also avoided any 80+ content on purpose to keep it fresh on live servers, instead I tested lower level content. Most people were doing 80+ stuff so I like to think I helped by reporting a ton of bugs and suggestions for the low level stuff.

Skyrim wouldn't be like that though, Skyrim is a different game entirely and I'd rather not spoil anything before I have the final game.

On the other hand, if the game was released as buggy as Oblivion then I'd gladly test just to help make sure that doesn't happen.

Me?

I'd run around my workplace naked.

I'd land a job at Bethesda, lol :) . Only real way to do it.
