I would probably do the same for the TES 2 DAGGERFALL flashback of the first few weeks DAGGERFALL was released and constantly crashing out. Amazing patches came out so quick back then considering I got them all from magazine cds like COMPUTER GAMING WORLD and PC GAMER. Seriously, though, the Xbox downloads patches automatically, I don't believe I can opt out. You can't start playing, as far as I know, without logging into Xbox live so Bethesda released such a patch, I'd be in real trouble. I mean, I might have to go get a PC! Perish the thought, shudder...

my question was a "what if" type of question, plus i'm playing the pc version of skyrim (and steam automatically updates the game).

I wouldn't download it, just like I didn't download patch 1.08 or whatever it was that gave horseback riding on the PS3 but really bogged down the game in several ways that were very annoying.

Anyways I am an Xbox player for now and 1.3 broke respawns and that still effects this game at patch 1.9 and this is a feature that destroys the experience for me. I wish I could get Sky for PC for immersive patrols as a work around for this issue and the plant respawn fix.

Since launch weapons and shields do not despawn and this can lead to save game bloat thus rendering your game unplayable OP.
