What would you expect?

About too months ago I played with a very similar FCOM setup(-RAEVWD and Better Cities/ +QTP3Redimized). I had a steady 22FPS or more. Now, with out QTP3R, most of the mods are Pyffyied and mygame puds along at 6 FPS outside ...(removing RAEVWD and Better Cities only gives me 5 FPS boost.)

Oblivion performance doesn't like to follow rules or be predictable.

You never mention your screen resolution, AA settings, AF settings, or other graphics quality settings.

OSR by default caps your FPS around 30.

Side notes: OSR3beta6 is old. And "22410" isn't part of FastExit2 version, it's just some random number that tesnexus felt like appending to the name when you downloaded it.

Was Unique Landscapes a part of your mods the last time you had 22FPS?

Unique landscape in itself can cause frames to drop when paired with
an HD texture replacement like QTP3r Since all the new content from
UL gets the new textures from QTP3r.

If you installed RAEVWD I assume you ran TES4LOD?
With all the new _far.nif files that get processed from UL and Better Cities, that would account for additional FPS loss.

After you uninstalled RAEVWD, did you delete your distant lod folder within the Oblivion\Data directory?
If not, most, if not all new content that TES4LOD created would still be processed by your graphics card.

Go ahead and delete that folder and see if you get more FPS.
Than reload your UL mods so you get the _far.nif files that came with the UL mods and you should be good.

EDIT - I would probably stay away from RAEVWD until you get a graphics card with higher VRAM, or maybe
drop one of the other FPS intensive mods as a trade off.

That why I chose RAEVWD and Unique Landscapes in place of QTP3Redimized this time around. Yes, I used TES4LOD. I'll try deleting the lod folder.

I usually don't reply to threads like this, but you did say "what do you expect?"

For about a year or more, I've struggled along, playing Oblivion on a PC with a 512 mb graphics card, an early Pentium D processor, and 4 gig of ram. Even with a lot of tools installed (Streamline, stuff like that), my game plugged along with the occassional CTD. My expectations were pretty low. I expected a little lag, the occassional CTD. Playing Better Cities, one of the most awesome mods ever created, was out of the question.

Recently I decided to migrate the entire show to my MacBook Pro. I installed Snow Leopard, BootCamp 2.0, Windows XP, updated BootCamp to 2.2, updated Windows XP to Service Pack 3 (in that order).

I then began to install Oblivion. I would install a mod, play for a bit, test for a bit, then install another mod. For each mod I installed, I would:

1. Create an OMOD.

2. Clean the Mod with TES4edit (except those that shouldn't be cleaned, like FCOM and MMM).

3. Sorted the load order using BOSS.

4. Created a Bashed Patch using Wrye bash.

I was intrigued to discover there was no drop in FPS after the install of FCOM. So, I installed Better Cities. I mean, BC slowed my old machine down to crawl. Not this time. FPS in the Market District is a steady 20 FPS (I get a drop to single digits when I enter the cell, but then it goes up again). Movement is free and easy. I threw in a window lighting mod. Still no real drop. Right now I'm at 126 mods and the game runs at least 5x better than it ever did on my PC. Of course, I'm still using Streamline and Sky-Ranger's excellent stutter remover. Whenever possible, I chose low FPS mods. For example, I'm using QTP 3 Redemized.

My current expectations now are much higher than they ever were for my PC.

I can run from Chorrol to Skingaurd to the IC and to all corners of Cyrodill at a frame rate between 15 and 30 (I rarely go over 30) and not a whisper of a CTD. This is the smoothest install of Oblivion that I've ever, ever seen. I played last night for five hours straight without a single CTD. (I do have a couple of strange anamolies, but I think they are hardware/mod related). My brother was so impressed he's now installing Oblivion on his MacBook.

I seriously suggest taking advantage of performance enhancing tools and cleaning your mods. Also, update your drivers if you haven't done so. Sound card drivers, in particular, seem to kill performance.

Good luck!

Sorry. Missed the without part... that's what italics are for. :goodjob: Did you install raevwd using the omod installer off tesnexus. If not do a search for raevwd omod and it shouldpop up. Now, in that omod installer, choose a custo
install and don't choose the first two options as they conflict with better citites lod and is know. To cause major fps hit. sorry. Can't give better details but I'm responding from a cell phone.

Iv use Wrye Bash install method for all my mods. So far have only used omod for Unique Landscapes. I'll look in to omod for raevwd.

RAEVWD Cities.esp covers all cities except Kvatch and the Imperial City. It places buildings and trees in their proper locations behind the city walls. This ESP is 100% module compatible with Open Cities (Classic or Reborn), and with Open Better Cities. It should not be used in combination with Better Cities or you will end up with LOD duplication which will severely harm game performance when viewing a city from the distance.

This should fix it. I miss :read: the readme :banghead:

Alright it's fixed :) I'm now getting a good 18 frames to 24 in the wilderness. But I've run into one more problem one that's usually a sign of CPU overload. Goblins and the like don't attack me unless I'm in range of striking distance. The passive wildlife acts normal(deer running away and the like) my summons follows me and attacks. Any suggestions on what I could add or remove to lighten the load on the CPU?

Glad to heat your FPS issues are under control.
Hmm I don't have a great answer for this, but all that you mentioned seems to point towards an FCOM related mod. I would post first over at the http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1075204&hl=. It may help to install your FCOM from similar methods like you did with RAEVWD... Here is http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=956375. He created OMOD install scripts for FCOM and MMM as well! It may really help with FCOM compatibility.
