So I looked through the old post and found no final definition of "Character Community"... makes it hard to vote for it you don't know what it is you're voting for...
I was literally just about to make a post asking the OP to elaborate on what "Character Community" meant before I decided to read the few posts in this thread. Glad I'm not the only person confused by it.
Anyways, I'd dig more maps (more maps always keep things interesting, I think), more weapons, and more character customizations as DLC. All SD would have to do is release free updates alongside the DLC to ensure players could still see the customizations on other players and get killed by the new weapons, even if they aren't going to buy them, which I think several other games have done. Being a relatively new gamer and up till recently exclusively Halo, I don't have a ton of experience with how DLC is handled wth other FPSs.
Red Dead Redemption and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 did this with weapons/appearances, so it would certainly be doable.
Edit: also map editor and theater mode would be sick. Question becomes for the map editor, what could we edit? In Halo, Forge mostly has pretty simple pieces because movement is simple. With SMART, suddenly the whole map can get off-balanced if maps are either too dependant on SMART (making heavy players useless) or don't have enough of it (where light get mowed down all day long). In the long run, going without the editor is probably the smarter choice. :/
Definite pass on the editor for me. As for a theater mode, I'm undecided - I think it would nice to have, but I'm unsure of how much actual use I'd get from it.
