What would you like to see from Brink?

Post » Tue Apr 12, 2011 9:22 am

didn't they round up experienced console players against experienced pc-players?
and if that is true, is it then also true that even normal pc-players won against those experienced console players?

if those things are true, i can't see a pc-console connection work well.

dont think that is possible, and even iff, it would not be fair.

At the very least, cross-console should be possible, but Microsoft and Sony would have to make nice, something I don't see happening.

Even Playstation vs XBox isn't even, afaik.

At least people who own PS3s keep telling me the PS-gamepads have much better accurarcy because of their sixaxis-technology. (Personally, I find the XBox360 gamepad to be much handier.)

I would agree with you that PS3 vs. Xbox 360 players would be unfair. I own a PS3 yet I have played Xbox countless times and I find that I can aim a little easier when on my PS3.

I don't know exactly, but I thought disguises weren't revealed by interrogating.
I hope everyone within vision of any allied player will be shown on a radar, except for the disguised enemies.

I don't in most situations like that u don't know where people are. So I think they should only be a blip on the radar if they're in yours or one of your allies' line of site that is within their perception stat if there is such a stat. What is the point of sneaking up on a guy with a shotgun if u can't enjoy the fact that he thinks he is invisible while he snipes at your team then..... BAMMM!!!! He's like damn wtf hit me... NO LINE OF SITE NO BLIP ON THE RADAR.

Use common sense. The line of sight is determined by the things you actually see. People sneaking behind you are NOT in your LOS, because you don't SEE them.

I would like to be able to customize my character to look like an ISA or Helgast soldier from Killzone..... does anybody think we will be able to do that? I want to know because it looks like Killzone3 is going to fail so that just makes me all the more excite for Brink.

I misread what u said. I agree as long as the player or an ally can see them they should be a blip

I hope there isnt DLC(remember the term, updates?). From what I can gather they seem to be gamers at Splash Damage, and Bethesda with previous publishings doesn't force feed DLC every 1-2 months like some other companies I refuse to support. If they release a signifigant amount of content I'm ok with throwing them extra money, but if they turn into CoD and sell you old remade maps for 20$ before they even fix glitches in the game(just an example), I will pull my support.
In terms of additions, new looks, guns, and options of the type are always awesome, even if they are only aesthetic(such as melee weapons, having many different looking daggers or sword/chainsaw for heavies). I agree with the general concensus about destructable environemnts/vehicals and they just don't mesh with this game. I think there is already going to be an insane amount of routes to locations, and instead of vehicals getting you there, you just need to know how to hop a few fences. I would assume destructable enviroments would hinder the SMART system, and I'd rather be able to hop/slide around as intended, then have scraps/barrels/crates flying around. Thats been done before, SMART in a shooter hasnt. As for other stuff, I will have to wait and play.

I would like to see in multiplayer is a merge with xbox ,ps3 and pc. I play pc, some of my friends play xbox. I would like to have the chance to play against them or with, without buying a xbox or ps3. Maybe call it Brink merge, it could be a type of play choice.

PC will probably never be merged with consoles, Microsoft did a study about mouse vs joystick, and the best console gamers vs medicore PC gamers, the PC gamers still won. You simply cannot aim as quick and precise with a joystick as you can with a mouse(aka: flick). Please note I'm not saying you can't be good, simply the best you can be with a joystick vs mouse, the mouse wins.
As far as Sony and Microsoft teaming up to make their software/hardware compatible.....lol....sorry to be rude about it but I REALLY doubt this will ever happen. They might as well put a joint effort into making a console, but Sony is building its online infrastructure, and Microsoft already has theirs. I doubt they will be merged. Possibly a 3rd party could make some sort of emulator/server. Anything is possible though so /shrug. Could even be a grad school project.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. I'm hoping for a DLC map pack a couple of months after Brinks release. I doubt that Splash would just remake maps, and as long as there's a significant amount of maps in the pack, I can say with confidence I will be a buyer.

i think vehicals would be hard to go in a parkour game maby destruction would be cool but i really want a map editor and big maps filled with [censored] that i can parkour in so that when i get sick i can still parkour in my bedroom with out goin out side and getting sicker but the point is, is that vehicals just wouldent fit in a parkour game unless it was like a small bike or helichopper and destruction would be a cool feacher but it would ruin the smart system

Did you read the first five words and stop?
First, Splash can't remake old maps, they don't have a previous Brink. The art and content I've seen is very original, and SMART takes level design to a whole new ballgame, so it is all new. As I stated in the middle, if they put in enough content to really call it a DLC pack, then I will buy it(I dont consider 3 "remade" OLD maps, no creativity required, that I can sprint around the entire map in 45 seconds DLC worthy, thats an update, or maybe I'm just old school).

I'm not quite sure how big the maps are. From the video's I've seen the maps appear to be huge, with multiple objectives, so maybe 3 maps would be a worthy DLC. That is their call, but If they churn them out like CoD, I wont support the business. I guess you will no matter what, and thats why DLC is pushed out the doors at the speed of light.

What is parkour? I get a different implied meaning out of every time you use the word, and I've never heard it...

Used dictionary.com and found it. It is free-running.

They made other objective based games similar to Brink, so they would be able to port maps.

I dont feel Wolfeinstein or QW:ET maps fit Brink what so ever, In art or concept. The videos on level design(Endless Horizon, Dawn of SMART in media section) show they are taking real world developments and using that as inspiration. That inspiration is rolled in with what SMART can do, to create a brand new generation of map design. If they did draw on inspiration from previous level designs, they are going to have to completely re-do it with SMART in mind, otherwise it would be rather bland to have SMART. "Oh I can get on this box now that I couldnt" .

Not as they stand, but I'm sure they could use Quake Wars or Wolfenstein as base maps, adding more features/area/objectives to it.

Indeed, plus I was just pointing out that they DO have maps they can port.

I don't even know what I'm saying sometimes.

simple i would like to see female characters , for years now us female game players have had to go round wearing big mustaches and looking like we belong in the ymca video.
Not since ravensheild have we had womans faces and voices .( in main games like bf and bc2 or cod4 and such games)
The game it self seems wicked apart from this 1 detail.
