trust me... we wuld all die in this world of elder scrolls... it mayb ehave been posssible in real history to adventure and survive but u only had to worry about people adn real weapons. now u throw in magic and ogres and trolls. dragons, living dead. ur chances go from 10 percent to 0 real fast.
Velorien already mentioned that this thread is acting that as if you was born and raised on Nirn. If we would all die that quick as your claim, then so essentially a major percentage of the population of Tamriel would be wiped out. The chances of survival are higher than you expect, in game the reason we die is because the game is designed to be a challenge for us. Ignore the fact that the Elder Scrolls is a game and that Nirn, and the universe of the Elder Scrolls is real, and Earth is in fact a piece of fiction written by some author who lives in High Rock. To us, Earth would appear to be far more dangerous than our own world.I know I've already posted in this thread with a answer. But If was born in Tamriel, I'd definitely become a scholar with some gruff adventuring in him. The lore of the Elder Scrolls is something I sink my teeth into, and of course as I mentioned in my previous post. Marry a Dunmer woman. :hubbahubba:
Adding onto what Macharius mentioned, its heavily implied in Morrowind that the occupation of a freelance adventurer is a very common trade in Nirn and that you aren't the only one going around looting tombs, fighting bandits, and stuff like that. Sure, your character is dragged into a prophesy divined by the elder scrolls themselves, but the average joe with a good athletic ability, above modest physical prowess, or alternatively a good knowledge in the arcane could take up small time jobs to get by. Usually adventurers wouldn't run around solo, as we have learned in D&D that if your going to go out adventuring, you better stick to a trustworthy party. So when you have a guy on your right who is a skilled archer, a guy on your left who could toast a troll with a strong fireball spell, and the dude behind you is a healer, and the guy in front of you is a hardened orc with a big ass axe, your chances of surviving ogres, trolls, and living dead go up a lot higher than if you were to blindly blunder your way around a dungeon alone. Tamreil somewhat relies on adventurers. And adventurers go into their trades by first making damn well sure they have the skills and knowledge to do so. They know their equipment inside and out, they know their tools, they know their weapons or magic crafts, and they know their history and lore so they aren't caught off guard by what they might encounter in that Aylied or Dwemer ruin... At least I hope they would.
