What's wrong with Bretons?

I noticed most people don't like the bretons - is there a reason for this?

I don't mind Bretons. I didn't know anybody did...

Having said that, I don't much like playing mage classes, so I don't use them much

The only thing wrong with Bretons... is that they're Bretons.. j/k

But seriously, dunno. Maybe people just generally find other races more interesting.

Ha! Bretons!

I just don't get why they look like full blooded humans, when they're more related to Altmer.

Bretons are quite cool, I mean they're kinda quiet because you sometimes can't tell them from imperials - and imperials are loud mouthed [censored]. I hate imperials.

Bretons though are quite cool, they're what I'd consider the genuine wizard race. and Wizards demand respect. lol

My best playthrough in Oblivion was as a Breton Sage. However, I generally prefer to play as Nord and Dunmer; my two favorite races since Morrowind. I will be playing as Nord this time in Skyrim. I find that Bretons are not as good in melee. I don't care as much for specialized characters, and Bretons tend to fall in that category. Dunmers make good hybrids, and Nords have great racial bonuses.

I don't like Bretons at all because of their culture. I just don't respect feudalism. A society that can't unite under a strong centralized government is a society filled with weakness. They are far from an ideal race.

I hate Bretons because they sound so stupid. I'm currently replaying Oblivion and If another Breton says to me "Oh it's my pleasure, please continue" in that stupid way that sounds like his mouth is full of bread, I'm going to kill him.

Slowly.

I think this is the answer. A lot of people like them, but many prefer the elves and beast races. I personally love the nords.

This. As I stated in another thread, I wish they had more of a "mystical" look I suppose. Instead of full on knife ears, tolkein style like the Altmer and the Dunmer. Couldn't they have more of a butterfly shape? They are still fantasy, still semi elven, but more human.

But I always liked them as faired hair, pale, and handsome/beautiful race. It's like their beauty comes from their elven origns. I just there were more classical features that gave them more oomph.

Mind you I do not hate Bretons. I actually play a couple different Breton mages in Oblivion, but I wish they had more of their own look if that makes sense.

I like Bretons. I role-play my character as half-breton.
