What's wrong with my legs!?

Argonians and Khajit used to have very distinctive legs in morrow but were they axed, why? As an Argonian player, I preferred the old legs that were double jointed, to the human legs that they have had in the previous two iterations. would it actually break the bank if you put them in the next iteration of TES?
I mean sure, it would have to have in-identical animations

they wanted to wear normal boots (and helmets), so they evolved

but in reality the devs decided to chop that out so they could focus on other things, losing part of the unique things to beast races had

i would say bring them back, but they 95% sure will not do this

I preferred the digitigrade animation as well, but it's worth pointing out that TES III is the exception here, Argonians had "normal" legs in Arena and Daggerfall. (They may have been digitigrade in Redguard, but then they weren't playable and I think there was only one or two you encountered.)

Initially Argonians and Khajiit weren't playable races, a fact that was changed after strenuous forum complaints. The animations (and tails) were done beforehand, and it was only after the change that they needed to be set up so they could have full player options for clothing. Boots and full helmets weren't an option, given the work that was already done, but otherwise things worked fine.

But every game Argonians and Khajiit were planned as playable from the get go they've had "normal" legs and full clothing/armor access. I suspect custom animations are prohibitive.
