Most of the things I don't want to see in Skyrim have already been mentioned: clichee story, quest compass, loading times, cheap dialogue, loot scaled to my level, dumb A.I., not feeling the progression, a world that doesn't react to the events. Hopefully these have all been left behind.

I never want to see : guns, dragon riding, psychic guards and shopkeepers, goblins with 1200 hit points, auto collection of anything, threads that reckon everything is a step down from morrowind, good enough game, very far from perfect.

If you hate lock picking so bad then just get the skeleton key.

But i never want to see AI as bad as Oblivions was. Which i think is fixed.
I hate the Oblivion lock picking. Morrowind was simple and straight forward none of this tedious fiddling around for ten minutes. Where do you get the skeleton key?

I should also add ignorance of wildlife. For instance, mountain lions are solitary animals they don,t run in packs, hang around human settlements nor do they invade basemants.
Being lock into a role and quest at the beginning. If the protagonist is to play the role of Dragon Born, let him/her discover it on their own. Let the player 'get off the boat,' explore, meet NPCs, do quests, grow in stats/skills and once they reach 2/3 of their level or self discovery of who they are, then the primary quest begins.

Oblivion's leveling system ;) Which has already been confirmed as deleted.

Guns.

Agro animals that attack 100% of the time. Real wolves, bears, and lions eventually retreat if they're too hurt to continue fighting. They don't always attack (on Earth) humans, especially if they're not hungry.

guards/NPCs that can swim, even as they're wearing a full armor suit + heavy metal weapons

Oblivion's near-endless item carrying system

the ability to run faster than a horse (without magical means)

Orcs and lizardfolk speaking plain English 100% of the time, although I fear I'm gonna have to live with this in Skyrim. I'd like some other languages (or something that at least sounds like another language) from the beasties, maybe some of the elves as well.

Snow that doesn't stick or accumulate somehow (sounds like this is not going to be an issue, though.)

orcs and lizardfolk running bookstores and wearing finely-tailored clothing.

a lack of peaceful wildlife. We need more than deer, invisible birds, and a few sheep if the wilderness is to be more properly fleshed.

Bandits that have ebony, daedric and glass armour (cut & pasted this one from god-of-madness up above)

Can't think of anything else, but that seems enough. :whistling:

I live close to the wilderness. Generally all wildlife flees from your presence including wolves, puma, black bears.

Mostly true. A large animal (or a pack) will attack humankind if they're hungry enough, but generally they shy from modern humankind as you've noted. I can't say I live near wilderness myself, but there are plenty of documented attacks every year on humans. Thank goodness they don't attack you or yours, of course.

Overall, it would be lame if some animals NEVER attacked us in the game, but it shoudln't be like in Oblivion where they attack unprovoked 100% of the time until they're dead.

How about an end of the Masonic symbolism like moon & star and Truflame scimitar [Morrowind, see http://freemasonsindia.blogspot.com/2010/11/ancient-arabic-order-of-nobles-of.html
Mythic Dawn, Sun symbolism "The dawn is breaking" "Greet the new day" [Oblivion, see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYHVw-3mQnc]

  • little variety in dungeon types
  • too much light
  • too many random encounters
  • too many complete armor sets instead of artifacts
  • few dungeons
  • too many nords
  • no Fargoth's torture chamber.
  • blind guards
  • too many evil people
  • no life underwater... only rocks
  • no secrets
  • no giant snails with huge eyes
  • acrobatics and atheltics ( it is too fast to level up with them )

Bloodmoon was cool because the ice caves did not have doors

Unfortunately what I don't want in is already confirmed to be in and that's children. Adds nothing to the game except hinder the do what you want aspect of it. I was super excited about Skyrim but now I am undecided whether to get it or not. Almost no excitement about the game now but I still like to read the boards to read ideas and stuff.

You're not sure about Skyrim because it has added children to it? That's nearly as bad as the backwards windmill fiasco.

What i dont want to see in Skyrim:

-A quest tracker. It ruins the fun of the quest.

-Fast travel! Dont let me fast travel to Chorrol just after i first exited the sewer. Do it like Morrowind. That is more realistic. Mage guild teleport, Silt Striders (or whatever lives in Skyrim) and Boats.

-Headless zombies that hear you.

-Characters that can't die.

-Walking with a torch through a shop during daylight because else you can see nothing. (on default video brightness)

I disagree with everything you've just mentioned, except the zombie part.

The air-bar being right infront of your eyes blocking the (hopefully) great view, it should be with the health magika fatigue. And most inportantly any air-bar at all when you can breath under water, it should not appear unless your runnig out of air, maybe even when your traqed in a dungeon full of gas.

I don't want too much copy/paste in landscapes, quest design, dialogue, faces, interiors.
I don't want quests that solve themselves (yes, I'm looking at you, quest update window). I want to find and put together the clues myself.
