What You Dont Want...

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:11 pm

Everybody is posting threads about what they want to see in Skyrim so I thought id see what people dont want in the game. Theres not much that I would take out but here are a few things that I personally am not too fond of. I dont like getting hit with a sword or spell that drains my attributes because then i just feel obligated to drop everything im doing and go find a potion or scroll that refills it. I dont like having to buy soul gems to recharge magical weapons. And for the love of Tiber Septim i hate wilo-wisps. What does everybody else not want to see in Skyrim, if you can think of anything at all?

I don't want the game to use such tiny text that my 32" tube tv can' t handle it. Oblivion, FO3 and FONV I could all read fine and it was perfect. Mass effect 2 and Dragon age that particular company decided to presume all players had flat screen tvs and made the text to small that it is unreadable on everything but PC monitors and LCD TVs... truly ruined those games for me and made them unplayable...but I trust Beth will not let me down. That is all.

while i too hated the wil-o-whisps, i don't want to see them go. I just don't guards that have the superhuman ability to know when you have picked a lock inside an empty building. I don't want a follower who's only useful ability is to hold a torch.

Bosses, but we're getting them... big giant spider bosses.
Next unoriginal bosses, see above.

Everything or at least 75%+ of the game to be combat based, this I'd hate more than anything.

Sorry to sound like a jerk but I really hope they let you down. If we always cater to the old and archaic we will never move forward. Especially seeing how you can get a nice TV for pretty cheap nowadays. I think there are like 24 under 250 bucks on the Best Buy website. I hope they don't make the game too simple.

Uh, some people don't have 200 bucks to spare

I'm not kidding, I'm very lucky I have what I do, getting a better TV isn't going to happen soon.

Being in school and paying for it yourself has the unfortunate side effect of having to be financially responsible. Also, I wonder how you can believe that making the font slightly bigger (or in this case keeping it the same size) will hold the industry back. I'm not asking for Skyrim to be playable on a windows 95 operating system or 10yr old graphics cards, I'm simply wanting the font to be the same size as that of Oblivion, FO3, and FONV so I can read it properly on my perfectly fine in everyotherway tv.

Please explain how/why you believe the industry cannot move forward by doing this.

I don't want heavy, first person head bobbing animations.. makes me feel sick...
the trailer showed some pretty heavy head bobbing during the first running in first person scene.. yet in later battle type sequences there didn't seem to be much at all. So I'm hoping it's a setting you can turn on or off/up or down.
Some people seem to think head bobbing adds a sense of realism .. while I understand that we bob up and down when we move, I for one don't notice myself bobbing up and down when I move.

This, this, for god's sake this. Why game developers are insisting on making text smaller and smaller is completely beyond me, but I wish they'd stop it. :swear: Keep your freaking eyestrain out of my games.

I agree with this guy. I'm saving up for Elder Scrolls right now on my weekly paycheck so it doesn't put me under. (60 dollars is hefty) No way I can afford a flat screen TV on my budget. Some of us are poor, hahah.

i would like a sprint button with a kinda weighted sprint like killzone for some dramtic effect. also finishing moves instead of every time you kill someone they just fall to the ground. Oh and maby some signiture move like your a fist fighter you might kick them back for some space or something along thoughs lines.

the briastroke being the only form of swimming

having to kill off the coolest faction in the game

Not rebuilding the coolest places in the game

buildings that are permanently on fire

running up stairs like they are flat

fast travel as the only option.....

There are so many games that get ratings of 8/10 or higher that I refused to play even on my 22" monitor at 2 ft. away because the text was to small. That may be a bit to dramatic, and someone will say something like that, but On my 22" TV in the other room, in which the couch is 8' away from the TV, and I cannot read anything, something is definitely off. Also, it is worth mentioning that I have extremely bad eye-sight.

Well that sums it up for me; Although personally... when I clear an area, I'd like it to stay cleared unless there is a plausible reason why it would repopulate in days instead of months.
