What if you drank daedra blood?

Post » Sat Jun 26, 2010 10:19 am

For sometime there's been something on my mind and I doubt it has been asked before but... What if a mortal or a vampire drank daedra blood?

What would be the benefits and the downsides?

Here's what I think, based on a source outside the elder scrolls.

1. Drinking daedra blood would burn you from the inside and cause horrible pain and most likely death
2. Drinking daedra blood would give you the ability to sense daedra
3. Drinking daedra blood would taint your body and leave a huge mark on your body. F.Ex blackened skin and daedra traits on looks. (Daedra worship)

Adding to the 3rd, a vampire wouldn't be able to hide his/hers affliction from people but they would most likely think the drinker a daedra of sorts and run while soiling themselves.

Just my reasoning. :P

Discussion?

Prolly some normal alchemical effect. Just like A Daedra's heart.

You can eat daedra hearts, scamp skin, clanfear claws, and all sorts of other daedra body parts. So will drinking their blood give you super awesome kick ass powers, a slow death, or blah? no. Like what NERFER2 said, probably some alchemical effect.

There's a Daedra Blood Potion in one of the random gates during the Main Quest...but it can't be drank or equipped. It doesn't do anything.

However, the blood of Daedra and Divines should theoretically be http://uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Raw_Ebony or some similar substance, right?

In that case

1st Drain Agility
2nd Cure Poison
3rd Frost Shield
4th Restore Speed

Are the four principle alchemical effects of Ebony, according to data retained from studied at the Vvardenfell chapter of the Mages Guild, which is sadly now defunct for obvious reasons.

Since wortcraft is usually not the most desirable way to garner the effects of any substance, any person attempting to drink pure ebony would find his or her agility drained. On the bright side, any poison he or she suffers from would be cured.

Yeah, I don't think you can base alchemical lore information on a completely different game :P

Though I would assume it comes along with the Daedra hearts, supposing that their anatomical functions are similar to ours.

I suppose their blood would be magical, at least moreso than the average mushroom or carrot that lets you see in the dark.

I know how the thing works in games. Daedra insides are nothing out of the ordinary.

What I ment by creating this thread was to gain knowledge from the speculated lore side of it. Set your imagination free. :)

Oh and I also wanted some discussion too. If at all possible.

Edit: thanks for beating me to it, Darkom.

Actually...ebony is supposedly the blood of Shor/Lorkhan/etc. Hence, that is why the largest deposits of ebony are in Morrowind, due to the fact that his heart was shot there. Plus, the ebony hardened, like a bad scab. I doubt the effects of ebony would resemble dremora blood, or the different blood types of other daedric beings. The dremora would most likely have magicka and fire based effects or something. Daedroths (the croc guys) would most likely have poisonous blood (based off of MW daedroths).

And thus the blood of the atronachs would have the effects of their respective elements. And I agree with the elemental effects of other daedra too.

Ogrim blood would most likely give you harder skin and stronger muscles. But would make you unable to cast spells and such.

I think that it would depend on the specific daedra.

most daedra drop something that would obviusly be in contact with their blood "teeth, skin, fingers, heart" and their affects would be simialer to those of the blood.

I doubt atranoches bleed. The salts would be the closest thing to that, which are all in-game

Curses..my data was corrupted..who was the author of that atrocious piece I presented?

*reads aloud*

Archmage Trebonius...oh, that explains it. Scuttlehead.

The data I had previously tried to pass off was written by the very same man who once tried to present to us "Khajiit - unshaven Bosmer?" a horrendously inaccurate, racist and not to mention boring three and a half hour lecture, complete with drawings so bad a child could have made them, and what he called "Bosmer fur, collected from an alleyway". This highly flammable substance, thankfully, reacted badly to the Illumination spell he was using as the evening wore on, and the guild hall had to be evacuated. Tragically all his "evidence and diagrams" were lost, but the very next week he presented us with "The tale of the Yeti". I can't say I cried very much when he was killed in a duel.

I shall endeavor to provide evidence from less questionable sources in the future.

Drinking Daedra blood would probably leave a bad taste in your mouth, with a wee bit of alchemical weirdness. Nothing horrible though, If I had to guess.
