What do you equip your settlers with?

Just curious, what do you guys equip your settlers with?

Give everyone not doing guard duty tricked out 10 mm pistols?

I've heard that some give all the farmers bowler hats to easily distinguish them and make their role more obvious.

I am certain that some people do custom uniforms for their guard force.

Anyone upgrade your settlers clothing with ballistic weave to increase survivability?

Do any of you have themes for your settlers based on your settlement type/specialization?

Nothing. I never get attacked. I have seen literally only two instances of my settlement being attacked in 80 hours of gameplay. One time was a small group of supermutants on my first playthrough before I figured out I could place turrets. The second was some random creature that got splattered by one of my turrets and I still don't know what it was. Probably just some random molerat wandering around or one of those radstags.

Now I'm up to level 40 I've still only got 3 settlements that I've worked on so all settlers have Combat Armour and various calibre sniper rifles. Sanctuary Hills also has 3 spare suits of power armour near the guard posts in case they get attacked.

I only give them certain clothing to denote their tasks, since there's no other way to know who's got a job or not <_<

only enough to fill one clip apparently

I still keep sanctuary very small but I still pass on tricked out 10mm pistols.

Nothing. But giving a different hat to settlers according to what task you have given them is an excellent idea. Thanks I will try it out and see how it works.

Why do we have to resort to tricks like differant hats to manage our settlements, there should be a darn I/F screen showing all workable resoursces and which are assigned to a settler. We should be able to make changes in that I/F without having to run around and try and figure out who is being lazy and who are assigned to a task.

Back on topic does it really matter what the Settlers have in the way of armor and weapons, does it really affect the battles? You would like to think so but it could all be just generic.

And do settlers actually use the shops you build? It'd be neat if they buy themselves armor/ammo/weapons. If not, that's something for a mod to add. Settlers buying weapons, from your shop, giving you money, so they can defend your property.. huzzah!

Both of these are excellent ideas, I hope Beth will implement it in the future.
