I want an answer on the dlc error problem. What we seem to just be getting is silence.

They have replied on other posts. So far they know about the problem and are working to fix it but no eta on the patch.

I am pacifying myself with rentals at the moment and a huge backlog of games from earlier in the year. I'm happy to wait as long as I have to, but at the same time I'm concerned that if they fix the savegame issue it might crop up again, or something else will come along to ruin my fun. If I find myself without any games to play then I may trade it in for something else, like Castlevania or Assassin's Creed or something... otherwise it's going back in the pile until fixed.

It's driving me slightly mental when I see people on my friends list merrily playing through it though. Damn them. Damn them all to hell!

I agree with that. If they have any hope of saving face with consumers they will make the DLC due out for the holidays a free download. Several websites have rated FNV as the worst released game of the decade simply due to the bugs associated with it. Fixing the issues and giving the free DLC would really help their cause.

I would like to know how they ever got the game played and reviewed! Theres posters up in bus stops near my house saying "all bets are off, we have a winner" that is probably true. However what they left of from that quote is the part where it says "of the most bugs ever in a game award"

I'd love it if they did, I could forgive this crap if they did. But I'll tell you this, they won't. Exclusivity does not entail "free". At this point I will never buy another Bethesda game at release again. I'm not saying they don't make fine games (eventually), ( I keep buying them after all) they just don't release them finished. I remember frequent crashes on fallout 3, I remember having to restart my oblivion game because a quest npc had tried to pickpocket an onion from a guard and gotten himself killed. This is enough. I will wait and buy their next game used at a lower price, when there's already patches out. I have been burned for the last time. But I'm not mad at them, I'm mad at myself. I feel stupid for putting my hand on the burner again when I already knew it was hot.

Deja-vu there Nathan001 :P

To be fair i did read a couple of review's of the game before i bought it, they mostly stated that the game does suffer technical issues but is still in a playable state, after buying the game i realised the first part was true but as for being in a playable state...LOL!

After some considerationI have decided to try and give this topic a try in the hopes that we can have a real discussion about this .Yes people are pissed (and have every right to be) I agree we shouldent have to wait for the dev team to get thier act together and solve this but honestly this the situation where we find ourselves .So the question I put to you and please stay on topic (which means no flameing or trolling) is how long do people and perhaps even the staff at bethesda/ obsidian think is a reasonable amount of time to wait for solution be it a patch ,refund ,recall or what have you (not that the last two are likely to happen) I would also like an real NO BS explaination of how this came to pass but I wont be holding my breath on that one . So without further fuss ,discuss amongst yourselves

The game has so many issues that I as a software developer think that even with a reasonably skilled and large team, it would take quite some time to significantly raise the overall quality.
In the mean time, it would only be fair to communicate an ETA for this work, but many companies don't have the decency and PR skills to be honest about this.

Basically, I think this game should have been been delayed at least a couple of months for polishing and bug fixing.

If I've not heard an ETA for the patch in the next week or so then I think I will trade the game for COD. The longer this goes on, the more value my game loses.

If the patch fixes the DLC bug but you have to start the game again then I wouldn't be too keen either. I lost 60+hrs and had spent a lot of time doing the errand boy quests of going back and forward between characters. These quests would have been better if you actually had to do something other than just speaking to them.

The annoying thing for me is that if I had waited a couple of months to buy the game I would have got it a lot cheaper and hopefully the major bugs would have been fixed. It seems like the loyal customers who went out and got the game on release are the ones that are getting the rough deal.

Did anyone else apply the updates last night? I did, although it took a while, and afterward - no freezes, load time was significantly reduced, graphics appeared smooth(er), and I detected no bugs. Although, I did not go back and check any of the buggy **** I worked around before, as I was having tooooo much fun zipping around doing new stuff! It was great. However, while there was a DLC download, there was also an Xbox update, which changed some xbox settings, too. I don't know if either or both contributed to a vastly improved gaming experience, but whatever it was, it made my night!

If any part of that made sense I would debate it. That was nonsense.

How does that not make sense? Te first DLC s probably stuff they developed during the development of the main game release. LTR

epic fail Bethesda!
You have lost karma!
[You have now become vilified]

Fix New Vegas NOW!

Update:
Don't Kill Caleb McCaffery in the "Debt Collector" quest

I've encountered a few minor bugs throughout the game, but none like the one involved with "Caleb McCaffery." After I killed that bastard it kept crashing repeatedly no matter what I tried.
Luckily, I had a save file from right before I shot him. I loaded that, didn't shoot him, and now I'm back to playing. Hope this info. can help someone else. :foodndrink:

You want results? Take the game back and claim it is a defective product, which it most certainly is. Demand your money back or get another game. Money is the only language a corporation speaks.

Then buy the game in 3 months when it actually works.

I have just noticed an update in the top sticky of this forum.

It says a new patch is almost ready, solutions for save game error's and other issues (i for one hope the game stop crashing!)

Seems they are actually taking note of issue's explained in the forum, guess we have to be patient now over the next few week's. :)
