What do you hope gets fixed in the after Thanksgiving patch?

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 6:33 pm

I have a feeling they won't tweak any gameplay elements, just fix bugs, so I'm not going to expect anything else. It will just be a pleasant surprise if the fix any of the gameplay complaints.

Destruction magic - damage scaling with skill level, +spell effectiveness enchants for ALL spell schools
Each spell level (Novice ---> Master) perk in ALL schools to come with its own +spell effectiveness (damage/duration) buff - Novice +20%, Apprentice +40% etc.
Destruction Dual Casting and Impact perks combined; Impact reduced to a 30% chance to stagger
Robes to have innate +spell effectiveness enchants, otherwise there's no point wearing robes instead of armour
Impossible to enchant +spell damage/-magicka cost enchants on Heavy Armour; severely limited on Light Armour
Magicka to regenerate in combat at enchanted rates

Markarth House bug fix please - steward no longer offers me the option

I'd like to see quest descriptions in the Miscellaneous menu - perhaps scroll through list of quest developments
Ability to drop quests - I've got some that I'll never do, but I can't get rid of them from my inventory

Extra hotkeys on Xbox - lots of different D-pad directions
Tweak hotkey assigning for dual-wielded weapons and magic

EDIT: And the ability to divorce your spouse please.

1. better AI for both followers and especially mobs to add more challenge on master difficulty
2. Illia (mage follower) fix
3. better coding or scripts or whatever it takes to run the game more stable
4. fix the dual-wield hotkeys on favorites menu...as we upgrade the same swords or maces or axes, the game didn't recognize them as the same type anymore, thus prevents us to equip it on the same slot in the items menu and the hotkeys..really really really annoying :brokencomputer:

hmmm..i think that's been the most important to me so far,hehehehe...trying to quit skyrim until the next patch so there's no spoiler for me ,hehehehehe

cheers :celebration:

I'd like to be able to dischant any item, even If I know the enchantment, so I can put new enchantments on my items. But not with unique items that are found.

Maybe if the locations in the maps when clicked on told you what quests (that you know of) you need to do there.

A hardcoe option like fallout would be okay, drink/sleep/food meters.

Would really like to have throwing knifes/axes, also a 1h crossbow would be sick (under archery skill). But those two are more for DLC's.

The extreme drop in fps once file size get's to big on PS3. Having to start new games because of that is [censored] annoying.

Best game I've ever played, but...

Bugs (all pc):

1) Unable to get quests if you accidently aquire the item or clear the dungeon before you get the quest
2) Destruction scaling
3) Performance and CTD's
4) Invisible hitboxes for rocks and dungeoninterior etc. Hate it when my arrows bounce of invisible something. Especially bad when looking down from a cliff or a ledge, and half my arrows just bounce of the air, even though my view of the target is 100% unobstructed.
5) Deaddragons falling from the sky,
6) Day/night cyclys moving out of sync.
7) Arrows disappearing when shooting a target more than 20 meters away.
8) People cloning (suddenly i have a lot of people outside whiterun named Louis?)
9) Some perks not working properly (armsman not functioning with daggers f.x)
10) conflict between last sneak perk (making you invisible for at short time) and nocturnals sneak power.
11) Dragons flying through mountains, my horse teleporting up in the top of the nearest tower when i turn my back at it for 10 seconds.
12) Not getting finishing moves when using powerattacks to take down enemies. (Sneak and daggers f.x). Or just in general make it so that finishing moves actually happen. (I'm level 33 and in all i've had 15 finishing moves in al. Never on dragon.)
13) Remove aim-help on bows
14) No more bows shooting over(!) the target when aiming at their chest. Refers to point 13). Dammit the bow auto-aim pisses me of!
EDIT 15) Make dragonfights function properly. I've never seen them grab things by the claws, or the mouth or do anything other than bite me and spit fire/frost etc.
EDIT 16) The horse attacking everything all the time
EDIT 17) Key remapping

Features:
Give the dragons a 500% damage boost against npcs (essentials and companions exluded). Or give them an attack that can take npcs down in one hit. I hate it when a bandit plunderer takes down a dragon while i hide. Really really takes me out of the game, and annoys me like hell. Ruins the belivability of the world, and belivability of me being the all powerfull and mighty dragonborn. Never seen a dragon grabbing an npcs by the claws or by the mouth, as seen in the promo material (with the giant and the guards). Why not? Would fix this problem :/

There are so many things that need fixing and I'm sorry to say that I believe the only thing we'll see are the graphics and a few broken quests being fixed and that's it. Bethesda isn't going to change the destruction magic, or the journal or anything like that. They would have to admit it's broken first and they won't admit that.

Aside from bug fixes..

- Remove collision on followers while they are your companions to get rid of the blocking. Doesn't really need to be applied to Conjuration allies.
- Enchanting and Smithing rebalancing.
- Tweak Chain Lightning so it doesnt bounce onto allies.
- Improve double casting to make it worth it.

Make it so that your horse doesn't always think it has to defend you and get itself killed (1000 septims down the drain!) In addition to that, enemies that don't just attack your horse and ignore you until the horse is dead.

hardcoe mode, of course.

Companions level with you or at their own pace. Also able to take potions and wear regular clothing you give them.

Rideable MAMMOTHS, dewd! just joking.

Various bugs and glitches having to do with the engine (dual core/xp periodic freezing)

For now I would like to have the shrine of Talos at Markarth fixed - after escape from the mine - the guards that took you in are still there, and the only option is aggro/turning hostile. Not cool.
- then UI
- destruction magic
- change the name of the journal, it does not deserve it. Last journal I saw was Morrowind.

has Oblivion/Fallout/FONV ever once had a patch that changed the balance of the game? I thought the only thing they ever released were bug fixes?

For the most part that's true. But if they find something that works too well, they might "nerf" it. Like smithing and enchanting, hopefully. Can't remember ever seeing them boost a thing that wasn't up to par though. They just take notes on what people like/don't like for their next big project.

EVERYTHING.

Hey you said "hoped".

Realistically, I hope they track down all the bugs and glitches and get the playability under control. I've been one of the lucky ones and haven't had too many problems, but having the game minimize itself repeatedly during combat is annoying as hell.

Funny how people are acting like it's an mmo.

Bethesda needs to focus on fixing quest glitches and graphical bugs atm, not "balance"

FONV included balance tweaks in some of the patches based on community feedback. Energy Weapons got stronger, and some other weapons got weaker. There was the usual crying of " is now useless!", but it was a pretty good thing for console users.

I hope for balancing.

I honestly don't give the slightest gently caress for the bugs.

What do I expect the patch to do? Possibly fix the mannequin armor duping, perhaps some minor bug and missplaced static object, perhaps even fix some meshes!

I do not expect the patch to balance anything.

Missing followers that are still with you.

More than once I had a follower disappear but they were still registered as being present and I couldn't get a new one. The only way to fix it was to open the console, teleport to the the follower (because I had no idea where they were) and tell them to go home.
