What do you hope to see in Fallout 4?

Random Encounter

Two men are walking toward you and one seems much more frustrated than the other, You overhear the frustrated one say, "I swear, man, if you say that one more time I'm gonna kill you." The other laughs heartily at this and then speaks to you...

"You know, I used to be a Sole Survivor too, until I got shot in the..."
*the other explodes his skull with a shotgun blast at point blank and screams"
"HEAD! UNTIL YOU GOT SHOT IN THE ****ING HEAD, YOU REPEATING, INFURIATING ****!"

Moral and ethical ambiguity.

I hate being presented with neat and simple fait accompli's. I dont want morality with a bow on it. The Pitt proved that it can be done and that it should be done. Not all the time, but at least some of the time.

If I am presented with something where they try to pidgeonhole me into a morality, chances are I will revolt against it. Or try to.

Throwing stars or some sort of throwing melee weapon. My ninja character would be pleased to have something that can handle foes that are out of range for her sword.

Im with Farbautisonn, I would like some tough decisions, not some clear cut path with easy decisions with clear effects. I want to make a choice and wonder if it was the right choice.

AMR. Doubt it will in the game, but it was a fine rifle, especially with the explosive ammo.

Otherwise, I would not mind The Pitt Raider armors make a return, updated of course.

I want to see at least one large, clean, inhabited, well-maintained post-war city. It's been two hundred years since the bombs fell. On the west coast, people have actually made an effort to rebuild (NCR etc.) while so far the most advanced society we've seen on the east coast are those wankers in Meagaton who just haphazardly cobbled together a bunch of old, tetanus-y aircraft around an atomic bomb miles away from any discernible resources, then presumably just sat on their thumbs for the next few decades.

I also want to see a higher reliance on character skill rather than player skill, severely-hindering restrictions on dialogue for low-intelligence characters, and both friendly and enemy super mutants with sensible, realistic, non-black-and-white-morality motives (the more Mariposa-like they are, the better).

YES. Your first paragraph...that was one of the most annoying things that often totally pulled me out of the game, both in F3 and NV. It's been 200 years since the war, which is a very, very long time...and everything is still an utter waste with very little evidence of rebuilding at all, and 99% of the people are living in complete squalor with garbage all over every floor in every room. Does the radiation make everyone incredibly lazy and unable to understand the concept of clean living and taking pride in your city and housing? The modern human race seems to have accomplished more in our past 50 years than in their 200 years, and that doesn't make any damn sense even if the land could only be inhabited for the past 100.

Lots and lots of unscripted NPC interaction. Both violent and peaceful.

I would love to see intricate choice and consequence and recognition when you have done important things like in NV or The Witcher 3.

Interesting and unique characters. Companions with depth... ones with personality and backstory, that comment on the locations you bring them to, and on quest progress and choices you make in the games. So they feel like like actual people with feelings and opinions instead of meat shields and pack mules that sometimes talk. New Vegas was a step in the right direction, but still needed more.

Also, more horror. I know Fallout isn't a horror game, but they've had things like the Dunwich building and the Gary vault, and that town in New Vegas with all the feral ghouls. I want more of that. Makes for a nice contrast to the camp and occasional silliness.

As far as what I want as opposed to what I expect.
1. Some sort of hardcoe mode or simular
2. Unique uncraftable weapon parts (im pretty sure we will get this)
3. A better reaction from npcs when you steal rather than just shooting you right away, whether or not its guards doing the talking. Like say if you are seen taking something they will first ask for you to put it back.
4. Throwable weapons other than just grenades.
