Neither is beating a red headed step child. But people in Fallout do it. :sadvaultboy:

Apparently the concept of the word 'optional' escapes half of this forum, huh?

How would the word have escaped the forum? Either this is a bad attempt at sarcasm or an under-handed slam, I can't tell which as the comment was vague and devoid of detail. Perhaps you could elaborate on how the masks' availability has anything to do with it's power?

The god-danged unmarked quests, why not just add a sub-group of quests that don't use map-markers.
God.

i agree, this really annoyed me. They also need to fix the fact that I'd talk to a shopkeepeer, see how much money/ items they have, then kill them, and both whats on their body and in there shop stash is WAY less than what they had before.

Labyrinth-type metro tunnels and being able to completely change your karma by giving water to homeless. Both is most probably changed.

@Niamh- New here AND making sense? I like it.Welcome to the forums. Anywho, I agree, Fallout New Vegas's story looks like it's gonna knock Fallout 3's story out of the ballpark. (I liked 3's story, but I do admit it was a rather typical story type) And I love Fallout 3's engine. So older Fallout story, newer Fallout graphics? I like this.

I agree with this so much. I don't get why people whine about things like fast travel or the ghoul mask when they don't even have to use it.

People shouldnt have to pretend something isnt in the game to keep the game being a challenge. The Ghoul Mask, VATS, Grim Reapers Sprint, Chinese Stealth Armor, Power Armor, etc are examples of this. One of Fallout 3s biggest problems was that lost any challenge it had to offer by level 10 and by level 20 your character was immortal unless you forgot to use one of your 300 Stimpacks.

Having options is fine but those options still need to be balanced otherwise gameplay suffers.

=We shouldn't have to nerf our characters just to make the game more balanced just because the devs couldn't.

lot of rpg's have armor with a high defense stat, but their are penalty's, like if you have heavy armor you would get -2 to agility, they did that in fallout 3 with some power armor, but it was only power armor you got early on, and you soon figured out, you could get the best armor in the game pretty easily. How about all power armor has a high defense, but your agility is seriously hampered because of it, also it is very heavy, so you can't carry many weapons with it. Good idea?

I've played Fallout 3 on and off for about 2 years now, I'm playing through a big guns character right now actually. But even then there are things I wish did not exist.

Raiders able to shoot me from across the map with shotguns. (Exaggeration for sure but their accuracy with shotguns gave me pause.)

Binary moral choices. I always felt I was adhering to the games strict moral code, not a code of my own. It was like somebody always looking over my shoulder and berating me because that's not how he would of done it. It was either evil, too evil, good, or too good. I personally wanted to gun down Roy Phillips after the Tenpenny Tower quest on my first play through when I learned what happened there. But the game still deems it an evil act, despite that all these people in here just committed widespread murder and fed them to ferals in the basemant. Yet if I go "whoa, hold on here" and kill them for this act, I'm Satan. Or I can become a Christ-like figure by donating water to beggars. Does not compute. It’s this reason why I enjoyed the Pitt a lot and always replay it on new characters. It was up to you to decide what was right and to follow through, you had to do some dirty work.

A more tolerable DJ. I like three dog but in a lot of ways he's just lawful stupid, always his way and spreading BoS propaganda because they are personally saving his ass. In some ways I see very little between him an the enclave station, the only difference is that he is up to date on more current events. Or taking pot shots at my character for not adhering to his set of personal morals

Dudes with muttonstaches or doom rider facial hair styles. The sight of them weakens my heart with fear.

S.P.E.C.I.A.L. actually meaning something.

Indeed.

The 'options', basically, shouldn't be based on avoidance of becoming too powerful, but more to the thought of "Do I become powerful enough?" based on the chosen 'option'.

Caravans that have only 2 people in them and once they die they're gone forever. Carvans should have lots of people in them, and they should have a home base where they company they work for is organized. None of this "oh it's just me, my two headed cow and my guard, hum dee dum give me thousands of caps and outfit me with the best armor and weapons and I still get killed by an albino radscorpion on the way to megaton".

Enemies never running out of ammo.

I'd kill a raider after letting him shoot around me for 14 minutes, and to find out that he only had 2 shells left.

It being heavy doesn't make any sense, because it's POWERED armor. It's an interesting idea but it would literally go against everything that makes power armor power armor.

The Raiders and Mutants who can shoot you with a shotgun from 500 yards away while you miss with your assault rifle at less than 100 yards away.

The "Jack Of All Trades And Master Of All" leveling system. But that's already been addressed.

Hopefully the SPECIAL stats will mean more as well.

It's true that SPECIAL should not be invalidated, but I still feel like there should be a point toward the end of the game where you can max everything out.

The game not being able to handle alt tabbing. Come on guys it can't be that hard to get your game to alt tab correctly.
I love F3 but I'm sick of having to save and exit just so I can check the TV listings in my browser or whatever.

Nah thanks, Broken Steel is the proof of just that.
The game becomes broken if you can max everything.
It should be possible to raise a couple of things higher but the maxing out ruined Fallout 3 for me.

Definite no to this one. There's little point to making the choice of creating a brilliant but physically fragile character in the beginning of the game if they're just going to include an "I WIN" perk later in the game.
