what do you hope they have omitted from F3?

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 4:24 pm

I saw a drastic improvement in that regard over Oblivion, IMO. Most places had a bit of flair to them now, instead of Yet Another Ayleid Ruin/Cave/Fort like in Oblivion.

It was a big improvement over Oblivion, that's for sure. Yet, most places still felt like filler areas that I had no reason to visit.

The bugs,glitches and freezing.
More locations that add uniqueness.I don't want to constantly see metro or power stations and destroyed buildings with the same inside.
This is another good one.

I fricking hated this in Oblivion. If I sneak into a guy's house when no one is looking and very quietly bludgeon him to death before he can start shouting, I shouldn't have the whole damn town coming down on me like I just strangled a puppy in the town square. Theres just no way they could know.

Oh how I hated this.Sometimes they wouldn't be looking for me but that rarely happened. They always knew exactly where I was even though they weren't even close to me.There wouldn't have been a point to hide from them if they're still able to find you.

The only thing that annoyed me from Fallout 3 that I hope they haven't transferred into Fallout NV is that when I only look at someone else's stuff they immediately go "You are not stealing that!" I kind of got sick hearing 'that's locked for a reason' every time I was lazily looking around.
I do hope that they have more quests that make no sense whatsoever, like when the PC was halucinating (or whatever it was) when the PC get's a slice of their brain snatched in Point Lookout. I do hope that with the mini-quests or unmarked quests they do have a bit more choice in them. Like with that guy that was screaming about worms eating up the sun (can't remember exactly what he was shouting) standing on top of a building with nukes scattered on the ground. Basically the only way to solve that quest was to kill him. I couldn't find a way to get near him either so when I shot him there was no way to get his stuff the normal way.

I don't know, I don't have anything I deeply hated in Fallout 3.

I pretty much feel the same
but if I really had to think about what bothered me....

I suppose the scoping bug is what probably bothered me the most
but I'm pretty sure thats been fixed.

Chinese Stealth Armor- The armor made your character broken.

Using it to avoid having to fight things all the time makes your character broken? Huh, I guess I need to just turn sneak into a dump stat while I'm at it.

Scoping bug?

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Sniper_rifle_(Fallout_3)

scroll to the bottom of that page and read the "Bugs" section
that not only affected sniper rifles but any weapon that used a scope

It made me lose a ton of headshots during the time I had no idea what was going on

One of the thing I want gone are the Conga-Lines.

**Edit: (Ever watch melee attackers try to get at you (but not see a direct path), and then all begin to follow the each other in a tight meandering line around some obstruction? Deathclaws did this and it looks ridiculous ~they often did this with sidewalk curbs).

*** That's another thing I'd like gone (speaking of Deathclaws), is their odd inability to traverse curbs. I've seen them come at the PC and stop at curbsides like they were 5' embankments. They could pass them, but only if they happened to play a lunge/jumping attack that landed them past it.

The freezing & fps drops the ps3 version got.
Also the small internal city areas/underground passages.
I want to roam across hills & plains. Not wander through a maze of interconnecting tunnels and small squares.

Omitted?
You mean changed?
I hope we don't get an instant quest marker this time around and have to fish out clues from people.
When enough info is gathered then we get a quest marker.

Agreed, I don't want to get drunk after drinking one (that would just be annoying), but if we drink 2, we should get visual effects, and if we drink 3, we should get the staggering animation that was shown at E3.

Trust me, you don't want drug visual effects. I had them on when I had the FWE mod for Fallout 3. Drugs are already useless enough.

I dunno... They were pretty well done in Redneck Rampage, and even Rott; and Witcher.
(never played the Wanderers mod).

My signature has a quote from the guy, he's awesome. I'd like to see more hallucination quests too, that would be awesome.

When a quest asked you to find someone that isn't given a clear location, you should be able to try and talk to other named NPCs more about that person.I would like something like that as it would be more useful and adds more to the speech skill for me.

I was just trying to get to the Ranger area, when I hear some freak screaming and Super Mutants started chasing my [censored].
I then blew up.
I had no idea why.
Thank you for solving that mystery.

The first time I heard him I was freaked out too, I didn't blow myself up though I just listened to what he was saying, that [censored] is deep.

They should have the BioShock method. Not even Subject Delta could get past drinking six bottles of vodka.

If not, dear god that's broken and I will stay away from it in New Vegas.

No it's not. It's hardly armoured at all and if you actually NEED it, any kind of detection and/or trap system is fatal. I have a character who's very survival depends on stealth fields and long distance kills

the "Follow the leader in a straight line" ordeal. Always got on my nerves when I glitched all the followers and they stayed in a line, or even just dogmeat and fawkes following each other like puppies.

the lack of actual negative effects of adiction and drunkness

AI having ungodly aim

small number of Misc. items (PC has a few mods to add more items, but what if we on the 360 want a typewriter and a new chair in our home?

lack of NPC's in various areas. I loved the unmarked settlements and scavenger forts, but the lack of NPC's in areas that look hospitable always bugged me. There should've been a few survivors in Anchorage memorial for instance.

Items for quests using another items skin. I hated how some items like the fusion pulse charge was just a sensor unit.

Permanent resized items. we all know how hard it was to decide where to place the giant teddy, cause he was a one time deal. You pick him up again and he'll be rescaled to a tiny normal bear.

Chinese Stealth Armor- The armor made your character broken. Although I got a feeling it will appear in new vegas as it was suppose to be in VB

Grim Reaper Spirits- I love this perk but I don't think it should be transfer over to New Vegas. The perk made the game too easy.

Almost Perfect Perk- Same reason as above

Enclave- Don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind fighing the Enclave but they don't need to transfer over to New Vegas, heck they weren't even in Fallout 1

This is the only post here I disagree with 100%.

The reasons why I didn't want those items in FONV is that the Stealth Armor, Grim Reaper Spirits, and Almost Perfect Perk they make the game too easy. New Vegas should be a challenge, don't get me wrong I love those two perks and the stealth armor but I want New Vegas to be harder.
