What do you intend to do first?

Post » Thu Sep 02, 2010 12:08 am

Since theres so many random topics being throwing out....

This one has actually got my curiosity.

Personally i will be going straight into co-op (I have friends through steam ready and waiting!)

I would prefer to go co-op against AI, for 2 reasons....

1 - To test just how "SMART" The AI (Bots) really is in this game!

2 - To get a better feel/knowledge of the game, To go through my setup and prepare for going against real people.

So Let me know what your answers are!

Wherever the option exists (and it has in almost every game I've ever owned), I will be playing single-player first.

Single player first. I'm really interested in the story, and I really want to interrogate someone. The very first thing I'll do is customize the hell out of my character.

Yeah - Same as me then....

But dont get me wrong - Soon as my friends leave or cant play - I will be straight onto single player.

Not that im a coward or anything, But i just think the most sensible thing to do, is to pimp your character out and learn to play well enough to know when you go into multiplayer. You will be an important asset to your team.

Rather than a newb getting shouted at constantly :P

Single-player first, so I can learn the ropes without being yelled at, lol. I can also try to learn the basics of SMART and try out
the different body types and see what is my playing style is like.
I would also like to see the story without any added pressure and also replay stages to learn the maps.

Then, if my connection is any good, I would go to multiplayer (if I don't chicken out, heh) and face the craziness of invisible internet peoples, lol.
(Will try to find PSN friends from this forum, too).

Single player for me. I want to try using SMART with the different body types and get use to the system. Then I will do co-op to work with others and see how that works. After that, it is on to shooting some of you fine people and being shot by some of you as well.

Everything i know about the game is in theory 100%.Action is completely different.I'll play Single Player first as i do always to learn and feel the game,
the gameplay,to know some tips about first and everything to be a bit more familiar,
cause in teamwork i'll be with guys that i don't know,so i have one more reason to make fewer mistakes and to help the best i can.

I am so excited and I know exsactly what i am going to do first. I will first play with screen birghtness and test that out for about an hour and then play with the control schemes and see which one makes the most sense. Finally i will click in and out of the menus til I go to bed. But thats the plan who knows i might do something else not as fun like read the manual

Definitely single-player, or co-op to start so I can get an understanding of how the game plays, and an insight as to what body-type, and classes I will want to use.

Wow, I didn't dig deep but already found five (http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1175071-when-you-get-the-game-what-will-you-do/, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1171224-first-thing-you-plan-to-do/, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1113068-first-thing-youll-do-when-booting-up-brink/, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1164355-when-brink-arrives/, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1158634-how-will-you-start-off/) threads about it (then again I know where and what to search; aaaand I'm falling into old habbits again ... not so good).

And this was my first and only answer to the actual topic ever.
Hopefully I'll have my friends joining me in coop-campaign early on.

And luckily a friend of mine already pre-ordered, too. So I will start in coop. (Maybe not for my first live commentary, tho...)

Multiplayer, here.

One of my favorite things about Brink is the wide range of customization and character/weapon options. I'd feel like I was cheating myself out of something if I unlocked any of these in singleplayer, so I'm actually looking forward to starting out with nothing and going straight into multiplayer. That's a personal choice, though, of course. :)

They are all the same I thought?

Personally I'll go multiplayer since it is the actual story of the game, with the challenge I like, and it's what makes this game so unique. (Why play a game if not to play what it's all about?)

I'll probably be exclusively SP, starting with the campaign and then going playing "standard match" missions vs. bots.

One thing I really like about the game is that you can customize and upgrade your guy in SP just like you can in MP.

They indeed are.

Except for the people. A bot will definately never steamroll you with his superb uber-gaming-skills.

Oh, I should mention. I'll be playing multiplayer, but definitely still the campaign first. I plan to play the entirety of both sides of the campaign before moving on to other modes, because I am interested in the story too.

Brink For Dummies!

Step 1. Check out the character and weapon customization, play around with attachments and such.
Step 2. Go into a private match to familiarize yourself with the maps and give SMART a test run.
Step 3. Start playing campaign. Play through a few levels.
Step 4. Multiplayer

Repeat steps 3 and 4 until campaign is completed, then repeat step 4.. Over, and over, and over..

Step 5. Become sleepless

i intend to play single player first , i like playing on my own first so it's less of a competition on who gets the last kill or the most exp a round or the least deaths, even on Co-Op i'm competitive. (G-Chromes spell checker kills me, i spelled competitive wrong, so instead of giving me the nearest thing, it gave me these-competency's , uncompetitive , noncompetitive , anticompetitive. everything but competitive.)

Single player for sure, I always do that with new games I play.
I like beating the game first and then get going with online action.
