What do you like about Honest Hearts

Were we ever actually told that the modern Khans of post-Fallout 2 era are raiders? I was under the impression that they got by on selling chems and trading with others these days, and were only in conflict with the NCR because they wanted to remain firmly independent.

Yes, we were.
Bitter Springs happened because the Great Khans raided NCR caravans and settlers, Papa Khan says "When the NCR came to the Mojave, we thought they would be easy pickings. We raided their caravans, their towns, their camps - they couldn't stop us." so yes, they certainly continued with raiding, you might say they only did that to the NCR because they kicked then out of California but still, they raided as they did in the past.

If you think he is a damaging influence because he is willing to justify his own sins with Christianity, then are you not equally maleficent for making the decision that he deserves to die and then justifying it by saying he is a blight on the region? You should try talking to him. He already turned away from a darker road once. He can do so again.

I never said I wasn't equally as maleficent as he. It is simply of my opinion that he is a hindrance to the advancement of... everything.

And if the druggie relapsed back into his habits, whats to say he wont do it again. You clearly know he is unstable, so removing him from the equation is, again, in my opinion, the best action to be taken.

Some people are defective and need to be removed.
If you were in the military and could not fight for your country then your a coward.. call it pacifist its less insulting than what you really are.
(and yes I'm a vet) You have a nice day and don't dirty your hands just sit back and let everyone else pay for your freedom.

"some people are defective and need to be removed." --said hitler about the jews.
"some folks need killin'" -- some movie. anyway... I digress.

It takes more courage to stand and let someone you know will kill you or harm you without attacking that in takes to attack or to run. it might be stupid or crazy but it is not cowardly. to run or to fight are easier than standing and dying and turning the other cheek. if I had to a) run from a serial killer B) shoot him or c) stand still and tell him I would not harm him knowing he probably gonna kill me, C is obviously the most freaking scary option. and calling someone a coward who served in the military as a medic... not cool.

"christians are the only people who read the gospels and think jesus was not against violence." peace out.

Ah. I must have forgotten that. Fair enough. I don't really hold any sympathies for the Khans, myself. I simply have no reason to attack them, in general.

Not entirely true. As Joshua points out, when Jesus saw that a local temple had been populated by money lenders and merchants, he did not try to talk them into leaving. He began destroying their wares and upending their tables in a rage.

I never said I wasn't equally as maleficent as he. It is simply of my opinion that he is a hindrance to the advancement of... everything.

Fair enough then. Though it's not so much that Joshua relapsed as he went astray once again, but in an entirely different way. After all, leading a brutal barbarian horde is different from teaching tribals to defend themselves by any means necessary.

I actually really like Joshua's firm faith. It adds to his character, and you can tell that he truly believes. His faith is as much his shield as soul. Now, I'm firmly Atheist, and I'll go on record now for outright hating religion, so how can I love Joshua's character? Simple. While I loathe and detest religion in all it's forms and all it represents, I have a great deal of respect for actual Faith.

There's a very great difference between religion and faith, and most people who embrace the former ignore the latter in favor of a church/temple/synagogue base groupthink. If more people would actually think about their beliefs and read the fragging texts of their respective faiths with the intent of actually understanding and relating to them, then the world would be a hell of a lot better off.
