What do you like to do in GTA IV?

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 3:17 pm

Well I just got it, and in the first 20 seconds after getting to free roam without Roman, I decided to run up and push a construction worker off a ledge. LOL. I just saw him standing there, so he was asking for it.

Now I just gotta figure out why my spec's are causing little latency freezes for no reason.

My favorite activity when I had the game was to just cruise down the roads on a motorcycle at full speed and try my best not to crash. Or intentionally try to achieve the longest air time with my helpless flailing body. Other times, when I was feeling particularly sadistic, I'd pretend to be a killer and find little secluded areas to murder random passerby.

I used to do that as well. I usually stuck to highways and such for mine, or really busy city streets. I'd also try to run the helicopters blades down on an angle and see how many cars I could destroy before my helicopter blades broke and I crashed and exploded.

I really liked turning it off and never playing it again. Not trying to be a troll or anything, I just really didn't like the game. There can be some fun in just free-roaming the city in a car, but as far as the rest of the gameplay goes, GTA III was better IMO.

To each his own. In my opinion most games people love, svck complete ass to me.
And i Felt the same about Vice City. That game was so bad to me, couldn't even stand playing it.

-Get a helicopter up in the air, knock off its back end, then try to fly the damn thing. It's hard.

-Find a good sniper location, and play "celebrity spotting (ala Dawn of the Dead)".

-Get some buddys, shoot up a hospital, resturaunt, or other populated building, and see how long you can hold off the police

I did this a lot too. I once held the police for about an hour with ammo cheats before they finally killed me.

Edit: I remember another thing I did with some friends, too. We went to the airport with large trucks, parked them at opposite ends of the runway, then tried to sandwich cars and each other between them. Needless to say, we're not as pro as the Mythbusters, so we were constantly [censored] it up. It was a lot of fun, though.

Strange i was only went back to playing today. I went into free mode, where loads of got helicopters, and we all crashed inoth one another at the same time.

I also love hitting people with heli blades (or me getting hit), today i lost the tail of my helicopter, bailed out and got batted out to sea by the blades. Ah the possibilities are endless.

I like hanging out with Packie Mcreary and going to bars with him, the arguements they get into are usually pretty funny.

Same with Bruce

I misread the topic as "What would you like to do in GTA IV?"

Me, too. The first thing that came to mind was "Everything I could do in the other games, like fly an airplane."

Yeah I miss all the crazy funny stuff from the earlier games. GTA 4 doesn't even have any pedestrian riot cheats, or tanks, or airplanes. Saints Row 2 is closer to the old GTA games than GTA 4 is... If you ignore what a crappy PC port it is.

One time while playing Gay Tony, me and a couple friends got a helicopter and started chasing people down. I was flying, and my friends were sitting on the sides. Whenever we caught up to someone, my friends would parachute down and ambush the guy. After they killed him I'd pick them up and we'd go after someone else. So much fun. :D

Do you have it on PC? I've only played it for a little bit so far, but the car handling felt really bad.

I do, and yeah, the cars handle pretty bad compared to the 360, mostly because you can't control your speed with a key (as opposed to one of the trigger buttons). Other than that though, it's a great game.

Seems like this is a good place to ask how the PC performance is now.
I've rented it a bunch on PS3, but never played it on PC, and I'm thinking of buying it off Steam, but I know that performance-wise there were some issues.

I have a C2D E8400 3.0GHz, a Geforce 9800GT, and 3GB RAM.

I got it, and with an i5, 3.2GHz, 8GB ram, and a HD 38xx series card, it has random issues with just those lag spots where it stops for a second or two them resumes. I'd avoid getting it for the PC. And doesn't look like it matters what the specs are. This game seems to tank on all systems (including a post I read on a guy running an i7 5800 series Radeon, 4.3GHz overlocked with water cooling, and his did the same.

You should close your internet browser and stop going online. Try it, it's the only way the internet is fun.

Same with JC2 for me
