Werewolves or Vampires in TES games?
Just wondering, I for one have liked Werewolves more, just because I hate looking like a old bag when I am a vampire if I don't drink blood or haven some lame magic to say that I am draining a persons soul or whatever, just seems more...evil?XD idk I just like them more

Discuss please :obliviongate:

You made this the wrong kind of poll. Everyone can select both of them.

I totally like werewolves more than Vampires. I do not like that Vampires must feed all the time and that they are damaged by the sun if they dont make other people Vampires. Damn. I do actually like Werelions, Werebears, Wereboars and Werevultures more than Werewolves though. Just personal preference.

They better have Werebears in Skyrim or im gonna flip.

Sickness of the Daedras. Both dies under my blade undiscriminating. Better that way than to seeing them as puppets, losing every inch of sanity, while at the same time, spreading the curse to the unfortunate souls.

So none.

Vampires are so much more diverse, so vampires are better, in my opinion. I want to see the vampires of Skyrim, the ones who drag people who walk over frozen lakes to their deaths from below.

Werewolves of course.

Its a good thing vampires have those weaknesses or we'd be running around when super powerful hordes of them.

I allways liked vampires a lot and I'm glad I can play one in TES games. Of course the various glitches in Oblivion destroyed the joy of playing a vampire, but the possibility is still very nice. I just hope in TES V the vampires will be better handled then in both previous games. As far as were-creatures go, it would be nice to have them in TES V especially if it takes place in Skyrim and I can see no reason why they should not be playable. I just cannot imagine I would play as one, because to me, the were-creatures are just too britsh. I like the cunning, lithe and deadly vampires better.

Vampires from what game? They were better in Morrowind than Oblivion, but there wasn't a whole lot you could do as a vampire either way.
Werewolves weren't even in Oblivion. There's not much you can do as them either. Become a little hairier, kill something, become unhairy. Rinse and repeat.

Meh. Neither of them were that fun to play.

Werewolves. Of course. I love anything associated with Hircine ^_^

Though I do love how, prior to Oblivion, Vampires were quite different to cliché vampires. Unless I'm mistaken, most vampires tend to look like humans with fangs. At least in modern media. I also love how every other vampire aint in love with a human <_<.

Werewolves, because I hate vampires (thanks for a movie series that i'm not going to mention...). I hated the vampires in Oblivion. When there was no werewolves in Oblivion, I didn't like it. Not, one, bit :stare:

Werewolves.

In Morrowind being a vampire makes it impossible to do most anything and in Oblivion, being a vampire is exactly like being a regular person. It's so easy to feed in secret because you have compete control.

But, the werewolf in Morrowind makes for an interesting time. You can maintain a secret identity and beat the main quest, but there's challenge becaue you have to pay extra attention to the times. And taking transportation is always too big a risk.

Generally, you wait to turn, then use your super werewolf speed to travel between cities. I also love the distorted view and the grunting noises and the disturbing dreams. Man, this is making me want to become a werewolf again.

I have to say I like werewolves more, being able to transform into a wolf is just more interesting than becoming someone who needs to drink blood and gets sunburn easily. Now I can't speak for Oblivion as frankly, I never bothered becoming a vampire in that game, but it seems that the way it's handled in Morrowind makes it rather crippling, considering that most NPCs won't have anything to do with you, at least as a werewolf, you could interact normally with people during the day, you just needed to find a good hiding place before you transformed, which I would actually argue adds an interesting new challenge to the game, not to mention that when you actually transformed, this provided an experience that was quite different from normal gameplay. If in a future Elder Scrolls game, Bethesda can for some reason only put one of these in the game, I'd prefer werewolves, of course Bethesda would probably still go for vampires instead if they had to choose because they're easier to do, though maybe if the game is in fact set in Skyrim, an exception will be made, I know that werewolves aren't supposed to be limited to Skyrim, but having Skyrim without any lycanthropes in it would just feel weird, especially since I'd expect it to be a bit like Bloodmoon, except of course much larger and hopefully with more variety.

I just wanted to say Thank You to everyone who has replied!:D
I normally like vampires but I hated being them in Oblivion, I wanted my character to be decent than when there were no Werewolves in Oblivion, well that just wasn't kool.

How many of you here think that Beth is just picking a changeable creature based on popularity? I mean weren't the vampires in more Lore in TES than Werewolves were?
IDK, My friend keeps on saying stuff that there will be none in the next game(makes me sad....oh so sad T____T) because it is based on popularity.......
Seeing as most people have voted on werewolves *gives you all hugs, specially God: Hiircine* ((Im tired of the dreams man!XD)) you would think that there would be more were-creatures in general in the games without mods needed :flamethrower:

So besides my ranting here, I really hope they are in the next game, I believe they should be able to be in any place that the next game is located in just because vampires are, like....everywhere! I would just want both races...creatures to have a REASON as to why they are there you know?

I think werewolves are harder to do. With a vampire, it's a texture change in the face. With a werewolf, it's a whole mesh change for the body.

It was hard enough in Morrowind that they didn't implement it until the second expansion. They actually said flat out that they didn't plan on ever doing werewolves in Oblivion because the new character generator made it even harder.

If we did get werewolves, they'd probably look like brown khajitts. I don't think they had the time or will to make a whole new body and face mesh for werewolves. And that's the only way to make a werewolf look right.

If it was based on popularity, there would be werewolves for sure. Bethesda learned a long time ago that fans love being werewolves.

Are you sure? All werewolves look the same, while all vampires need special faces tailored to their race, and the player's desired proportions (Oblivion).

Really, they're both hard to make. Vampires require more scripting (Sun damage, feed, ageing, eyes, etc.) While werewolves don't require too much, if you ignore animations. (night morph, feed)

It's a totally different mesh for the body, though.

I'm pretty sure drawing 8 separate face textures is still less work than building a whole new mesh for the body and head.
